Cam Newton Public Workout

Facts TRD... Facts..

http://espn.go.com/nfl/news/2001/0508/1193460.html

Michael Vick ran a 40 in 4.36 in rookie mini-camp.

Newton has run a 40 in 4.51

.15 seconds is a difference, but not a mind blowing difference. Definitely not the same difference as a 4.8 and a 4.5

P.S. You'll notice I revised my post to saying a "Notch" under Vick, before it was a full blown edit, as he is a notch under.

Vick was also clocked at 4.25 and Newton also clocked at way above a 4.5. Taking one of Vick's worst times and one of Newton's best times doesn't do much.

If you can't see the difference in their style of play then you are just being a homer.

How am I being a "homer" when Newton didn't play in North Carolina? Or are you just trying to blindly imply I have some Cam man crush. I've already warned you about trying to pick fights

6'6" 250lbs dude. 4.5 is phenominal for that size.

Like I said pages ago...Newton would be the best athlete on the team, if you go by the combination of size and speed. Nobody on this team can match it, and they damn sure can't throw a football about 70yds in the air to go with it.

I'm not picking a fight but if you think Cam and Ben had the same style of play you are flat out wrong.

If you were calling people by name, it'd actually be easier.

You mean if I were calling people by name you might actually have a point. Because you don't, because I'm not doing what you say I'm doing.

Either produce an actual statement that can show evidence that someone is racist.

I umm... already did.

Instead, you've just been throwing out suggestions that everyone from people on this board to actual NFL scouts are either racist themselves or "influenced by racism". And the only actual evidence you have to support your point is that they disagree with your evaluation of Cam Newton. To call that 'weak" would be a compliment.

Either produce an actual statement that can show evidence that someone is racist, or stop dragging the whole discussion down by throwing out baseless charges of "subtle" or "hidden" racism or "racial overtones".

Showing where one guy made a statement that could be taken as racist applies only to that guy. It cannot be then applied to anyone else unless you can also show they made similar statements or agreed with that person.

And don't bother with "I've already done that" because anyone reading this thread can see that you haven't :nonod:

You've warned me? Are you going to tell my mom next?

Nope...wouldn't help anyway. I can tell by how you act on this site you have no home training.

I never said Ben and Cam had the same playing style. I have no idea where you got that randomness from. I said they both played in a spread offense. They both only had to make one read and if that failed they both ran. Cam just did the running part better so He had more running plays called for him. Was that clear enough?

Yes but it's not 4.25. He's not the runner Vick is. That's all.

Vick has never gone a whole season without getting some kind of injury either. That's kind of where the size comes in.

And yes, I know a QB has to be much more than just an athlete. I believe Cam is more than just an athlete too. The kid is a leader and a winner, and by all accounts, he had already come a long way with his fundamentals in his one year at Auburn, and if you believe his new QB coach, he has made strides since then too. So why shouldn't I believe he has the ability to learn?

Laptop thingy

Daddy thingy

now this?

I just see major red flags going up. Let's see how the combine goes first.

Cam needs to show some maturity and stand up and tell his dad to not meddle. That has proven to be detrimental to his image already. The fact he's not publically said much about that IN ADDITION to this makes me question Cam's maturity.

But hey...we saw Vick mature before out very eyes. But I do not want the Panthers to be his guardian as it stand right now. Combine/questions (interviews) may prove me wrong. I've been wrong before.
