Cam Newton Public Workout

That's an awful big assumption based on one freakin workout.

People need to forget about what did or did not happen at Auburn because it doesn't apply to the NFL. This league is already full of players and players parents who took money in college, and they're doing just fine.

Most of them were smart enough to keep it hidden though. This also has to raise questions about the intelligence of Cecil Newton and how that will play a factor in his son's career.

;)

Now I'm just stirring the pot

k. If you think the Panthers will ever pay a 3 or 4 year QB no matter how good he is 100m+ you are crazy. And that is what Cecil will want on the second contract.

It doesn't matter what Cecil will want. I doubt that Cecil will even be the one negotiating the contract in the first place, and even if he is the decision is ultamely up to Cam and/or his agent.

I didn't say it wasn't true, but the post was meant to stir the pot.

Dude is like a puppet for his dad and it's sad. He'll probably end up costing him a lot of money, well that and his lack of an NFL skill set.

I still think you're all assuming too much. Lots of kids make their college choices because it's what their parents want, whether any money changes hands or not. That doesn't automatically mean their parents are going to run every aspect of the kid's career.

Let me tell you a little story about players' fathers who don't negotiate but play a role in the contracts.

A baseball player from a little known town in the Antelope Valley, CA comes from a very poor background. He's a big tall strong kid that is a pitcher for his HS team and all the scouts love him. He gets drafted and is offered $4million to sign and live his dream to play baseball. Agent says awesome. Kid says awesome. Father says fug no, my kid is worth way more than that.

Blah blah blah negotiations continue and eventually kid doesn't sign. Plays in some obscure men's league and hurts his shoulder. Gets another chance in MLB isn't as good anymore. Now works at Costco in the tire department.

True story.

Don't think it can't happen here. It's a great story if you guys want to read.
