Panthers go No.1: P.P.

So pass on the once a decade CB for Ndiami and give his 29 year oldish butt a 7 yr deal.

Draft Fairley No.1!!

I say the winning move is the opposite..Lineman still are good past 30. Cbs rarely.

I didn't really follow the 1st part, but the last part I agree with.. lol

If Haloti Ngata fell through, I would definitely go after him and draft Peterson. It would be great to have a solid pass rush coming from the middle, and Fairley has that potential about him. If Greg Hardy shows he's ready to start, we would have three guys capable of producing pressure. (Hardy, Fairley, and Johnson) Of course if Ngata became available, I would love to draft Peterson.

Ngata? he won't be available.. and he's not the only option...

bring in Cofield, (try for Franklin), and draft a prospect to coach up.. and draft Peterson..

done..

I still say we should take a look at Asomugha. I know, I know, he is going to want a huge contract. Well, I say it would be worth giving him that contract if we could bring him in and draft Fairley. Sign him long-term so it wouldn't be such a cap hit (give him a 7 year deal or longer, if possible.) Hey, we gave Jake Delhomme a 40 million deal after a sad performance in the playoffs. (And an average year at QB with a great receiver) The least we can do is give a big contract to a player that deserves it.

First we resign our key guys, then we look at Aso and offer him a deal. If he bites, good. If he doesn't, we'll do something else.

Drafting a CB number one overall is pretty much a bad idea in today's NFL, especially when our offense sucks so bad, we already have a number one CB and have never had much of a problem finding defensive backs, have a coach who's a defensive whiz who can pretty much make a guy like Nathan Vasher into an all pro, and most of our problems on defense stem from a lack of good d-line play, which makes an average secondary look good anyway.

This seems like something the Bengals would do when you consider that their scouting dept consists of like four guys in a room watching YouTube highlights after raiding the magazine rack at Walmart for draft preview guides, and Marvin Lewis.

Being that IMO there is no clear cut no.1 "today's NFL" is BPA. So in the years of Deion sanders, Revis, champ Bailey hindsight none would be no.1 picks? I beg to differ.

well with this said, they would never have traded back in the 3rd to reach for Armanti Edwards. Sounds like a winning formula!

Pretty much. Honestly, you guys get so cute with your positional needs. 'No one drafts CB first overall', 'why do we need another WR, at 1 nonetheless?', I mean ffs, isn't the most important thing just how likely that particular player can become dominant and successful in the NFL? Isn't the most important thing not to set our franchise back another 5 years for getting it wrong? I think everyone can agree that the odds are that someone in this draft is going to be good. and not just any sort of good, all pro/historically good. Instead of getting so caught up over what positions they play in, can't we just take the draft as what it is - a chance to evaluate talent and grab a guy who has shown promise? BPA.

Your so wise Nagai. Also this does not mean we will IGNORE DT a HUGE NEED!!

Patrick Peterson as a CB will be greater than Fairley at DT ..in my opinion..sad you have to write that on a opinion based message board.

I like how folks use Ron Rivera's lack of secondary talent in Chicago to justify there love affair with Fairley. Look at Ron's roster in San Diego. Antoine Cason, Quentin Jammer, and Antonio Cromartie all first round corners. If a guy is ranked at a 97 along with Bowers and Fairley then it is not a reach.
