Fisher out in Tennessee

Sounds like Adams screwed Fisher by waiting for all the jobs to be filled before letting him go.

Bill Cowher come on down!!!

Getting a new head coach might be the easy part.

Making a quality staff out of leftovers? That task is likely to be a little tougher.

The #1 top bad ownership/FO is the Titans. They were outed the day they locked Steve McNair out of the facilities without telling anyone. It's been down hill since then. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out (eventually) that Fisher just had enough of Bud Adams.

Fisher will get his millions, I'm sure. It's the staff that I really feel for, all the openings have basically been filled. Most were not anywhere near to making a million.

Turns out it wasn't Bud Adams' decision. As Bolt mentioned earlier, Fisher chose to leave over situations having to do with his assistants. Also had nothing at all to do with Vince Young.

When Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean asked Adams about Fisher leaving, Adams responded, "Where did you hear that? I better check on that. I can’t talk about it now."

There were similar reactions from assistant coaches and front office people. When reporters asked them about Fisher's departure, it was news to them.

They have since clarified that Young is still getting the boot. As to Fisher's replacement, it looks like it'll be offensive line coach Mike Munchak. Assistant coaches are expected to be retained (bad news for us; there were a couple I'd have loved to get).

Early speculation linked Fisher with the Eagles as a DC candidate, but it's since been said that isn't happening. Fisher wants to spend some down time with his family.

He was pissed off over the firing of Chuck Cecil and the team allowing Jim Washburn to walk too.

Gantt reported that we made an offer to Munchak earlier in the offseason, but he turned us down.

Good call reaching out to him. I doubt at the time he foresaw things getting weird, but now it's to his benefit.

I don't really care what the circumstances are, Jeff Fisher was way more valuable in more ways than Vince Young. Vince still has so much to prove to be considered a great qb and Bud Adams just let the best coach in franchise history walk out the door. '11 titans = '10 panthers. I'm calling it.
