What do you do when you're depressed?

I try to go to the gym earlier in the day because of how high I can get off of it.

Even if you just walk or ride the bike. Just make sure you sweat a little bit.

this..

depression, or the feeling of depression, only gets worse by sitting around..

there's nothing better than working out and getting those endorphins flowing.. along with that, just getting out is usually a good way to change the way you feel...

but yeah, porn is usually a good start.. I tend to indulge in food.. actually, one of the few things that I like to do anytime I'm feeling down, in general, is go out to a club with some friends..

that's not for everyone.. either they have started making excuses due to age, or they don't feel apart of that scene anymore, whatever.. get out, go have fun, they make those places so you can dance.. go make the most of it.. take a few shots and let loose..

i usually change up the pace of my everday life

example:

saturday: get up early, work out, go grocery shopping, run errands and get a lot accomplished before the afternoon. then go meet up with friends, do something social, do something different that you normally wouldn't do, come home late.

sunday: do absolutely nothing. rent movies, sit around and scratch balls, drink, smoke, eat a lot, and be totally lazy.

the change of pace helps. the continuation of life at a normal pace (a few errands each day, followed by some laziness after dinner, maybe a drink or two, etc.) seems to perpetuate the depression when i'm down. like i said, the change of pace in both directions is the msot therapeutic thing for me. just gotta make your day(s) feel different from all the rest.

Cat, sorry to hear about this.

Me, I usually do something that will make me laugh or sleep. Laughter gets the brain to release endorphins naturally as opposed to doing it artifically (e-tabs and such). Movies that you know wil make you laugh or comedian videos work.

Or, I sleep. Your mind is going through a lot right now and sleep helps me to sort it out in my melon. Not sure exactly how it works but it does. I feel a bit better after a series of long naps.

FInally. Go shooting. Take out your feelings of sadness out on something. Plates are fun to blow away or get a box of clay pigeons and blast.

That one always helps me.

Good luck.
