I think we should give out drug tests to everyone. Kids in public schools, if you get a tax refund (dont want you smoking pot with that), govt employees (monthly).

definitely....and I am not sure how it works down there...but up here, a portion of my salary also goes to Unemployment Insurance...so you could say if I was to lose my job, those benefits are "owed" to me as well, but there are rules and I need to be actively seeking new employment.

Welfare and all that crap....I really don't see the purpose. Unless the unemployment rate was 0.00%, there should be no handouts.

Currently my children aren't on the dole, but if they have to do it in order to go to public school or extracurricular activities...so be it.

It's not that easy for adults to get medicaid. Just because someone gets food stamps, doesn't guarantee they'll get medicaid.

My problem with government help is the people that sit on their asses with nothing wrong with them tend to be the one's getting all the help. I think I ranted in the tinderbox about our neighbor with a kid who doesn't work, but gets her housing, utilities, phone, and food all covered. She's early 20's and not a damn thing wrong with her. Sits on the couch smoking weed all day.THAT I have a problem with.
