Dolphins targeting DWill

I just think that fans don't realize these guys are businessmen first and foremost sometimes. DeAngelo will never again have a chance likely to make the kind of money he has the potential to do here shortly.......plus, he has been pretty vocal that the best thing about him playing has been Skipper. We are about to start a new era and still have no QB. DeAngleo's window as a legit RB will soon be rapidly closing. He may find the best $ isn't here nor is his chance to win while still in his prime.

I agree that money is always a big priority, but Williams has stated he would love to be a Panther even given the change at Coach and the fact he would be sharing carries.

Obviously if we give him really low ball him, then he'll split. But the way he comes off in his quote and as a player, I think he'll give us a hometown discount, and as long as it's reasonable he'll sign.

just because someone says they want to stay in carolina doesnt mean anything really. What he is saying is he doesnt want to have to move somewhere where he might not like moving to. But if the panthers dont offer him fair market value for a running back his age and his productivity it aint happening. The only players that give hometown discounts are players who really arent that good anymore.

You guys (the pie choir) got to be kidding. J-Stew is younger and just as talented.

but but but...he plays while injured. I realize he has missed only 2 games compared to Williams' 13 while they have been a duo but......the kid is a health risk compared to Williams :rolleye:

You all sound like a bunch of whiney little 10 yo girls.

Would we like to re-sign DWill? Yes

Should we overpay for a 28 yo RB who has had injuries the last two years....while having Stewart and Goodson on the roster? No

was waiting for someone to say this...

FFS, good players leave teams from time to time, it's very important to keep good draft picks coming in..

face it, if we can't keep DWill, we'll do fine with Stewart/Goodson in the backfield..

well you cant claim you are building threw the draft than when it's time to pay those guys let them walk.it's like sticking your dick out the window. you not going to get anywhere with it.

building through the draft doesn't mean you sign every player that becomes a FA.. it means you find someone through the draft to replace them.. so, uh, yeah..

this:

They drafted Stewart and Goodson as avoid having to pay big money for a RB. The odds are against Williams being as effective as he was in 2008 and 2009. I've heard people say he has low miles....but he was used very heavily in college too. I understand why he is liked, but when you are in the situation this team is, I don't IMO think spending on a RB is the thing to do
