Dolphins targeting DWill

hes the best RB on the team. This teams #1 priority has been our guys, building through the draft, etc for 15 years. That won't change this year.

I understand that. but my question still is, do you think Carolina with a stack backfield will be willing the pay the same amount as other teams w/ a weak backfield?

I hope Miami is ready to give up two 1st round picks for him...

It's a risk to tag him with so many other FA's we need to retain, but Kalil has already publicly stated he wants to stay with Carolina while DeAngelo may be on the fence after the departure of Jim Skipper, so in my mind it makes more sense to tag DeAngelo to get some compensation for him, especially since the Dophins appear to covet him.

true.

but is Jerry's stubborness going to screw the team. I don't think Carolina can tag Williams until a deal is actually done w/ Kalil. Jerry not willing to work out deals w/ his current players could lead to a clusterflizuck down the road this year.

How many tags do we have to work with? off the top of my head I'm thinking we have one franchise tag, a couple 1st & 3rd's, a 2nd round tag, and then there are the originally-drafted tags.

I'd like to avoid using the franchise tag if we have to, but if it comes down to absolutely having to use it I'd rather use it on Charles Johnson since using a franchise tag on Kalil gives him LT money. Throw a 1st and 3rd tag on Kalil and DeAngelo, and a 2nd on Thomas Davis.

I could be completely wrong though because I have no idea what happens with tags under the new CBA.

If possible though I'd definitely like to sign all of them long term.

Nobody knows, it will depend on the new CBA.

probably not. it may be up to him like many have said, hopefully there is positivity going on in the organization that will make players want to stay.
