do people realize that the only reason goodson got the opportunity he did last season is because sutton was sidelined with injuries?

the minute sutton was healthy he was the number 2 man behind stewart.

stewart/sutton > stewart/goodson

I think they are different type players. Similar to comparing the styles of Pierre Thomas (sutton) and Reggie Bush (goodson). I am not saying by any stretch that these 2 are on the same level as Thomas and Bush, but their skill-set is different and they bring different aspects to the team. Sutton being more similar to Stewart I would rather keep Goodson for a change of pace back.

Sutton has been solid for what he's been asked for. But theres not alot to go on to suggest he would be a pretty good conistent option.

Personally I don't feel to confident if Stewart is out and we have to rely on Sutton being our number one back.

Goodson>Bush. Goodson can actually run the ball, and didn't cost us a 2nd overall pick. :D

my main point was that Goodson is more equipped to be a 3rd down back than Sutton is... I am not saying you don't have an argument on the matter, but I don't see too many people in the NFL taking Goodson over Bush (although nobody will argue he wasn't worth the #2 pick)

Dumb idea to think it is that easy when DWill is a free agent and Stewart under contract. Would involve signing or franchising DWill (if franchise tag is available) then trading Stewart. Neither of which can happen before a new CBA.

:confused: D-will is aging and running backs don't last very long in the NFL!!!

Stewart has more NFL life in him.

How is dumping big bucks into a 28 yr RB a good thing when you can have a top tier ground attack w/ Stewart/Goodson??

Why not use that $ on a FA TE, RG, DT or even DE etc. to make the overall team better?

OMGzzzzZZZZZZzzzzzzzz, someone thinking outside the box.. BUT I WANT 5 #1 DRAFT PICK RB'S... FFS, we'll never have to pass the ball.. One dimensional football, here we IZ!

That money can go towards signing the likes of Zack Miller.. FTW

yeah I know we all are carolina panthers fans but sometimes we need to stop being homers and look at the nfl as a whole.

just want wise words to resonate..
