building through the draft doesn't mean you sign every player that becomes a FA.. it means you find someone through the draft to replace them.. so, uh, yeah..

You don't just let all your good players walk though when it comes time to pay them. We don't want to become the Florida Marlins, it doesn't work in football. There has to be a good balance of keeping your good players and replacing other players with draft picks. You can't re-draft an entire team whenever they are up for FA. Sometimes you have to pay people and DWill is worth it.

If you do want to become the Florida Marlins or Patriots, you trade these players before their contract expires for future picks so you have more to build up with. You don't just let them expire then walk.

I love DWill too. But he is 28 and hasn't played a full season in 2 years. Sadly, I think he has peaked.

Last season can be counted as a wash on the injury front because everyone had "injuries" and it could very well likely be that there was no point in him playing when his contract was up.

You don't just let all your good players walk though when it comes time to pay them. We don't want to become the Florida Marlins, it doesn't work in football. no, we won't be going neutral or making it a weakness... we will be extremely solid.. and I will venture to say, exceptional.. Goodson can run, you all seem to ignore that..

I am not arguing that getting something for DWill isn't more beneficial... that isn't even a discussion.. but! you cannot control that at this point.. Fox had a lot of pull with the team, and we will have to wade through the wreckage of some bad moves..

Goodson most likely won't command anything more than a 5th.. DWill might get a 3rd if the Dolphins are salivating that much over him.. if they gave a 2nd, you pull the trigger in a f**king second..

but it also means keeping your core talent you draft. if you keep drafting guys just for them to walk for nothing than exactly how are you building threw the draft?you are not building anything, you are developing guys for other teams.
