Hurney: QB is Carolina Panthers' 'No. 1 need'

it doesn't matter who we bring in, they're going to have to "battle it out" with Jimmy Clausen... because I can't imagine a new coach would bring in one of the FAs out there and just toss them the starting job and not have ANY competition in camp...

TheRealDeal's strategy for gaining influence

1. His name: Makes people assume he shoots from the hip with excellence. this is the first impression so it sets him up even if his arguments are poo, which they are.

"Who's this? 'TheRealDeal'? Holy poo this guy must be serious i gotta read this"

2. His user title: Because everybody wishes they can state their case with ****** swag

"'Straight facts homie'. I like that because I like people who are honest, but it speaks to me in an informal way. Oh i'm so down wit dat son" /makes gang gestures /only does this in private because he knows he'll get beat up

2. His mission objective: Find the least challenging argument to make due to there being minimal support for the opposing viewpoint

"Well, if he says Clausen sucks, and the offense didn't move the ball last year, then it's all Clausen's fault"

3. Find another QB that he fell in love with because the panthers rushed for like 200 yards a game when he was starting and had like zero pressure to perform when he played well that can't read a defense, can't stay on the field, and throws more than half his passes to one third of the field, and slurps him constantly, building a virtual straw house to conceal his pathetic existence on this forum and hope people even dumber than him buy into his poo. 1 and 2 are critical to making 3 work btw.

"Hmmm, he's talking a lot about this Matt Moore kid being a baller. Well I guess I'll believe him because I'm impressionable and he's the real deal who spouts straight facts so his input is better than anybody's"

4. Tries to validate and sell his point that Matt Moore's good to people by posting a picture of him side to side with the most popular and charismatic Panther on the team today

"Steve Smith is cool with Matt Moore? Well I'm sold, I mean such a concrete endorsement, now that I've made up my mind I'm gonna go watch TNA wrestling and eat some dinosaur mac n cheese"

5. <-----this is the part where he hopes there aren't people like me on here that tear down his facade and call him out on his bullpoo

Let me know if you go to any games next year, I'd love to buy you a hot dog and a beer, we can go to the tailgate together and you can call me a ****** to my face.

I'm not even trying to jump into ya'lls fight. But you just told someone to kill themself. You think you really have the right to tell someone they are going to far?

I didn't say it was too far, I just said there was no need for it.

Just a little sick and tired of people following me around the board and saying stupid poo, my bad

QB was our #1 need when Jake sh!t the bed against AZ. Hurney wanted to keep grooming Matt Moore as our future starter. Thanks Hurney, you should have been fired for that.

that weren't grooming Moore after AZ. They gave Jake a big ole extension b/c they thought Tommy Jone was a lie. They thought Jake would be here for a couple more years.

    • KC has a very good defense this year. It is 5th overall. Yes, still worse than last year, but their offense is considerably worse. Their passing D may be their "weakness" but they still allow fewer than 20 ppg. BY completed several deep passes yesterday, and he was able to threaten downfield in ways he didn't seem capable of before the benching. I'm not necessarily worried about his ability to connect deep anymore. What to me was impressive was that he did all this without a run game. We used the pass to set up what little running success we had. Wild.
    • Solid and fair assessment.   I will say, one of the big things I noticed yesterday was that he wasn't shy to step up into the pocket in the face of pressure.  He's trusting the IOL.  And they took care of Chris Jones yesterday.  We had clean pockets but also good success rate vs. pressure which just hasn't been the case with Bryce.   If he has more confidence the OL gets it done and he can navigate and step up for throws, that's huge.  It's one of the biggest things that's held him back.  He was previously bailing quickly and just too easily throwing away or making dead plays.     He was finding his 2nd to 3rd reads within structure/without bailing in the pocket.  That was nice to see, as much concern I have with him.  And the overall limitations will always be there. Time to back it up this week against the Bucs.
    • Suddenly the Cowgirls look like our best chance for a win remaining. I think the Bucs are playing better than the Falcons of late.  Our lone game versus the dirty birds is in the ATL where we always struggle.  The Cardinals are marginally better than I thought they would be. We are not beating the Eagles, they are starting to roll. I'm saying two at most, next week at home versus the Bucs and the Cowgirls.
