Hurney: QB is Carolina Panthers' 'No. 1 need'

You know McCown wasn't on the team until the day after Moore broke his leg right?

How did he lose his position to McCown for not knowing the playbook when he wasn't even on the team.

Please stick to facts.

I'm sorry I feel like Mccown was signed in the offseason. With what you are saying we only went 2 TC with 2 QB? I know that didn't happen.

I'm guessing Hunter was on the squad as well. Point is your lies about Moore not knowing the playbook have shown through.

Also, they talked about adjusting the playbook to Moore's strength when he played such as rollouts (which you saw a lot of against Minny) because he was more mobile than Jake and could throw on the run.

One person said Moore didn't know the playbook and he was on the outside looking in. Those on the inside said he did and his play proved that he did.

You're reminding me of an old dude named Catdaddy right now

I'm not the one who said it Blame the coaching staff Dan Morgan, Frank Garcia, and Brentson Buckner.

Your wrong I remeber arguing on this sight how good he look even with half the playbook. I thought he desever more credit for putting up the # he did with half the playbook.

You keep comparing a 3.5-4 game sample size of Moore's career, with 2 of his worst games ever mixed in, to Clausen's 10 games this year where he never deviated that much from bad and the comparison holds little to no weight.

kind of biased against Clausen to consider Matt Moore's stats playing in a better environment of an offense (2007, 2009) against Clausen only playing in this offense

maybe the sample size would be bigger if Moore wasn't made out of candy glass. He got hurt twice in i guess what you would call limited action while Jimmy stood up to a lot more punishment

Taking pretty much anything Brentson Buckner said about the Panthers seriously is a mistake.

Garcia was gone from the roster long before Moore got here, and so was pretty much everyone he played with.

Morgan was the only one who was actually on roster with Moore, but other guys who were still on the team after Morgan was long gone contradicted what he said.

Think what you want of Moore, but before you take that playbook stuff as gospel, consider the source.

They were not the only ones saying he was playing with half the playbook. Dam do people not remeber this. Pat Y was still here and Darrin G and Steve Reed were talking about it as well.

Gantt isn't the world's biggest Matt Moore fan, but I don't remember him or the others saying that themselves, only reporting that Morgan said it. They also reported it when Jordan Gross and Brad Hoover said he knew the playbook just fine.

While Hurney said Moore will not be placed on injured reserve, the Panthers did re-sign Brett Basanez to the practice squad Wednesday afternoon and released defensive end Angelo Craig. He could serve as the No. 3 QB behind starter Jake Delhomme and backup Josh McCown, who was acquired from Miami a day after Moore was injured.

How was I wrong?
