Patrick Peterson Meeting With Panthers

Eh, what round do you want him??? Fourth right? Sorry, didn't see anything too special. Not bad, but nothing overly exciting.

He's a projected 2nd rounder, could fall to the 3rd.

This is starting to become like counting the cuss words in Scarface. I think this is at least the fifth post today where a person talks about how vanilla the top of this draft is and then turns right around and says a trade isn't out of the question.

It's either worth trading for or not--it can't be lackluster top end AND teams salivating over moving up. It's wishful thinking on our part as Panthers' fan, but not realistic.

If you read it again i didn't mention the top of the draft but I do see what you are saying.

Trades happen when two teams with mutual interests find a way to make things happen. That will remain the same no matter who is in the draft.

The rookie cap will make movement easier especially towards the top because of how ridiculous contracts used to be.

Just all depends on what the teams want.

At this point if a trade down does not happen, I want Patrick Peterson in a Panther's uniform. Address DT in free agency, much easier to know what you're getting by who's had sustained success in the NFL. The fact Fairley had one dominant year raises a bit of concern, but I'll wait for the combine and such to make my final thoughts on him.

I just view both Green and PP7 as surefire blue chip prospects at their respective positions. From recent memory, they seem more promising than other players at WR and CB than in draft's past. Could be just me, haven't seen each of them that many games.

As for the Green vs Peterson debate, I'd go CB here. LaFell and Gettis have each shown potential, AE is waiting in the wings, and Superman is alive and well. On the other side of the ball, Marshall is probably gone and Gamble isn't getting any younger. Having a true dominant #1 that can totally erase a team's number one receiving threat sounds amazing to me. Oh, and an electric punt returner and a gamebreaker doesn't sound to shabby either

Funny you should ask. Last time Green and Peterson matched up was between the hedges in 09, green got nice stats and a touchdown...but all when he was put in motion to the opposite side of the field in zone coverage. When peterson and green were matched up one on one, green only had two catches. One catch was for 17 and a first down on and underthrown ball and the second was four yards in the third quarter.

PS: If I was a QB I would NEVER underthrow Green. Put that ball up high every time where only my guy can get it . That or I overthrow both of them!
