Lets say, we trade down to 5th overall at the Draft. Since 2011 would have the same draft order as 2010, would we draft 5th in 2011 after trading down this year? I'd assume not and it would be like most years. The lockout and the rules could change this though.

That's the truth. When Tampa WR's and Pittsburgh WR's ran right down the middle of our defense, it was so clear just how far we are behind on speed in the secondary.

in addition to his tape its not a reach to sign someone like Pat Peterson in addition to a faster than thought 40 time.

I'm sure they'll do their due diligence with all the top prospects. Might even meet with a quarterback or two (though people shouldn't get too excited about that).

It is worth remembering though that in order to run the defense the way that he wants to, Ron Rivera will need top coverage guys backing up the front seven.

Having guys like Quentin Jammer is what gave Rivera the freedom to do the kinds of things that he wanted to in San Diego.
