Let's trade Moton

Let Moton play out his contract this year he has earned that money. Moton has been a good sport and has done nothing but put in work despite how bad the team has been since he's got here. Moton is a guy everyone should want to retire a career Panther. 

I understand the concerns about his knees so a team friendly deal of a year or 2 next offseason sounds like a good move. Moton strikes me as a smart dude and if his knees are gonna hinder the quality of life he will have after his playing days are done then I suspect he'll hang up the cleats earlier than some expect.

You don't get rid of a player you know plays well and is a locker room leader, unless your hand is forced, on the hope that his replacement works out. You can still draft Membou and let him learn a year and get up to speed so he can hit the ground running, but you don't take a cornerstone linemen and off load him when he still plays well and isn't causing your team fits with their cap hit. 

 

The whole "How many games will we win this season?" question is also based in fantasy. You have to build a culture and keep improving. You don't throw in the towel at the start of the season and jettison good players for the future when we are not even close to a point where we have to blow the roster up and start over. They set the foundation last year, you let them build on it.

In addition Moton is one if not the most reliable O.L. We have ever had. He had several years of no missed games.
