What huge offensive needs? We all know a yet to be detemined veteran QB is coming in--done, no even going further.

So are we cutting Gross, Wharton, Kalil, Otah, Williams, Stewart, Goodson, Smitty, Gettis, Lafell, Rosario, King, Barnidge and Fiammetta?

Where is this huge need everybody keeps talking about? The blight at Right guard?

Hint: Fox and Davidson are gone will ALONE improve the offense.

I admitted to QB and RG needs. Again, we all know a FA QB is coming in. Who and when is the question. That may be the biggest FA acquisition this offseason besides some low-end role players that we get every season.

Which leaves the only glaring hole at RG.

I'm not sold that Rosario and Barnidge aren't top-notch players simply because they were under/mis-utilized in Fox's offense.

Conversely, scheme or philosohpy isn't why our interior DL sucked....it just sucked. A new staff isn't going to make Hayden a probowler.

I'm with ya on FAs, but that's not how Richardson operates. Round one and three are not backup lineman rounds, that's the later rounds and I'm not sold that Roario and Barnidge can't be very good TEs. Why? Hardly utialized under Fox. Yeah King's best attribute is blocking and not catching. He may go. As far as Gettis and Lafell...even Edwards, committment to the young players is JRs mantra. Hang up any idea of some big name, older FA WRs coming in like Braylon Edwards.

Richardson needs to step back and allow some serious moves to be made in FA, and not just a QB and RG. But you might be right, JR might get in the way and put a halt to buying talented FAs for our offense. I certainly hope not, but I think it would put us in position to draft Luck.

I'm in the choir and you are still preaching to me. I understand you, but that's not how JR works. There's a good article in the Observer talking about how Pittsburg drafted like 80% of their starters. They build through the draft and we all know Richardson tries to mold us after the Rooney model.

So it's build though the draft and only fill in with FAs if you absolutely have to and don't spend more on them than you have to. Only spend money on locking up YOUR players (drafted).

Aw man! Why'd you have to bring this to my attention? Now I have about 32 scenarios battling for most awesome thing ever.

(The top 2 as of now are Fairley coming out for q post game interview in a sequines robe with a fur collar & over size shades. The other is Fairley, Beason, Hardy, & Johnson all in the backfield for the sack, Fairley does the strut, Whooo! Then they hold up 4 fingers.)

It's not just ESPN that says Fairley is the #1 rated guy, BTW. My point was regarding your previous post is it's hard not to take the BPA sitting on the first pick. NOW, whether that pick is a fit for your team is where the nuance comes in. Sitting at #1 overall any of the top 2-3 picks are the BPA, especially this draft and need IS paramount when the can select anyone you want.

I'm just using ESPN as a point of reference, I'm just pointing to the general media's perception of him. As to the rest of the your post, here is where I disagree. Just because he may be the 3rd best player in the draft (which I wholeheartedly disagree btw, I think he's a project and a half), does not mean he's the BPA. Even if I were to put him in the best possible light I can, while being fair to his shortcomings, I still don't have him in the same tier of talent as Green and Peterson. Small tier I know, but I think it's a fair one. Think back when Adrian Peterson was being drafted, if you had the number one pick, would you have passed on Peterson, even if you had bigger positional needs elsewhere? That is the light in which Patrick Peterson and AJ Green are put in.

but dood i know AJ Green's a rare talent but we need a DT so much even if he only projects to one technique and DTs as good as him come out just about every year and we can fill that hole in FA we just need to do it liek srsly
