I'm positive the panthers will put very due diligence into this decision though and if there are any concerns he won't be dawning are new super cool all black uniforms.

What I find funny is someone posted a pic of Fairley and JaMarcus Russell together in another thread...and even though they went to the same high school somehow means Fairley will be a bust via guilt by association.

Now only if the anti-Clausen clique can Photo Shop Jimmy and Ryan Leaf together in a pic will there be PROOF Clausen is a bust.

As far as the big and fat argument...well, Fairley is not all that fat in actuality, having LOST weight last year and besides, who in the hell wants a short and skinny-ass defensive tackle? Not me.

Regarding the laziness claim being tossed around, I don't think there's much evidence of that. It hasn't been proven outside of hear say.

Thanks bobcat. I don't follow college ball enough to know all of this truthfully, so I appreciate any and all perspectives from fellow Huddlers. I take it all with a grain of salt, and I have my reservations about every prospect (but who doesn't?) it's just nice to see what everyone thinks and knows and thinks what they know and so forth. Are you in Fairley #1 camp or do you have a different direction in mind?

I agree that he is a likely choice at #1 overall, but don't you think that is a little bold to be assuming he is the sure thing at this point? It wouldn't suprise me if they are doing background checks on the potential top 5-10 picks. A lot more can happen between now and the draft than just your 3 scenarios.

No more than Luck before he went back to school. It didn't seem to bold for 95% of this board to declare it was a done deal if Luck did come out.

Fairley's the best player on the board NOW and will fill a need at the thinnest spot on this team, IMO.

In all seriousness, the "dirty player" label is a bit overdone. Fairley has a few questionable hits on QBs, but as long as he's on time and keeps his head up...he gets to the QB. That's the boat the "dirty player" folks are missing. I have no problem with opposing QBs getting roughed up as long as it doesn't draw a flag.

I love draftcountdown and I've loved mayock since I first heard his lispy analysis way back when. I dont care for kiper or walterfootball, but yeah, draftcountdown is a page I go to often. Still, I enjoy the huddle's responses (be it rational or not) just to see everyone's PERSPECTIVE and OPINION...cuz all of us on this board love this team and want what we think is best. Haha. For what that's worth.
