So yesterday I was picking up some stuff for a job and was talkin to a Dallas fan that works there. I've known him for a few years, we talk a lot of shmack back-n-forth. I walked away for a few to load the truck and when I came back he was talkin to a Browns fan. They were talkin Super Bowl and when I walked back up, I heard him say "Some teams got it worse than others, it'll going to be years before guys like him get to see his team in a Super Bowl" as he motions to me. My quick reply? "Bitch, we'll be there before you..We have a young, talented squad and a new head coach with lots of promise. them Cowboys still tryin to get their sh_t together. Name the wager and I'll take it.."

So what would you be willing to bet on Carolina getting to the SuperBowl before Dallas? What would you say the the odds/ chances are of each?

Does this fall under the Approved Offseason Thread List? Or should I go back to teh Lounge?

Because the Dallas Cowboys are really not Americas team. 99% of their fans here in the south are bandwagon fans because they were a good team in the 90's. And we panther fans despise bandwagon fans. It gets annoying to see people that grew up in the carolinas that now have a team of their own being cowboys fans because they are heard on ESPN 24/7 and not because they were fans of the cowboys since their childhood.

So, educate the rookie here: why are the Cowboys so hated around here?

"America's Team" is broadly overstated and a label much more than reality. If there were an "America's Team", it would probably be the Steelers as their fanbase is truely national.

Regionally, the two teams that the bulk of people rooted for prior to the Panthers were the Redskins and Dallas. As a prior Skins' fan, I loath Dallas. Many people switched once the Panthers came to be as we had a team to call our own. Some chose to stay with their old teams (the Skins are still my second favorite). Still, all the Cowgirls fans talk about are the number of rings they have though they haven't consistantly fielded a contender since the mid-nineties.

It's very annoying to have fans gloat about crap that's 15+ years-old as if it were relevant today. Yes, it happnes ALL the time. The last time the Girls played here a couple years ago, some annoying asshole kept waving his hand up in the air holding up four fingers (rings) even though the team was very mediocre that season (yes, they beat us).

In short, Cowgirl fans are annoying smucks living in the past.

main reason for hating dallas is already stated. NC natives that lack common sense, loyalty to their home, and other admirable traits choose to follow a team that they have no link to what so ever.

and J. I'd do a jersey wager. loser has to buy the other man's team and wear it for the SB appearance and the season after.

^^^ Uhmm, no, there were no gang signs flashed. But I am Italian so I do considerable amount of talkin with my hands. And yes, I was wearin a Panther hoodie and skullcap, so I had my colors, or "was representin"... Like youve never called anybody a bitch while talkin sh_t... Bitch... :dita:
