Clausen getting back to work

i just asked clausen about him coming back and if it was just meetings he was having and he said it was to learn the new playbook.

Likely it is the new terminology of the system which may be very different from Davidson's. Whether they use colors/numbers or something else. I doubt they give out specific plays until OTAs. Probably haven't been totally developed yet.

there is no way they already have the playbook for him to learn. I bet it is more the lingo and stuff that might be different for him to start learning and some basics.
thats what he said. either he doesn't know what he's talking about or he's lying and i have no reason to believe either one is true.

i don't think much of him as a player, but i also don't deny his work ethic and don't believe he would be misleading about the playbook.

chud probably has one already that he has been working on for a while. remember he has been one before and he had most of the duties of one in san diego. it wouldn't be unreasonable to think he has one ready to go. probably just needs some tweaking based on personnel, but it will probably be much the same.

you know what, you are probably right......I am forgetting Chud was an OC before. So yeah, he probably does have a "Chud" book.

Yeah, I don't deny his work ethic either. I think he has been groomed and overachieved b/c of wanting to be a QB on this level. I have said it before, I think he might have reached a level where his hardwork ain't enough.....he might need talent he doesn't have or intangibles at this level.

Yeah, he will have the basics plays and the terminology so he can hit the ground running when he gets back after school is out. In fact he is likely to be one of the few players who has it at this point. Maybe Pike got a copy as well. They will likely have different variations they will run and as we all know they will continue to tweak it as they go but he has to know what everyone else is supposed to do at this point. It makes no sense not to give him as much a chance to get a leg up instead of trying to cram it in later on. Since he is signed for four years he is going to be here for the foreseable future. No concern he will go somewhere else or it will get out of his hands.

Chud would likely have something prepared when he got here. If I remember correctly, when Capers came to interview for the HC job he had everything prepared including a practice schedule and every little detail to the tune of like 500 pages.
