Rewatching BSG

Yeah it was really religiously sappy blowing beloved characters out of airlocks, watching them shooting themselves in the head, kicking each others asses, having to team up with the enemy, etc.

As long as you can deal with the fact that the show was so good that there was no ending that could do it actual justice, everything about it is great. That being said the second season until halfway through the third was the best times for the show. When SciFi demanded some "stand alone" shows for some reason in the middle of season 3 it knocked some of the wind out of the sails.

I KNOW! Can't believe they took them out like that.

People used that excuse for Lost. Screw that poo.

As for the series. I got to the first episode of the final season, then I stopped watching. I'm sure I'll eventually get round to finishing it, but not for a while.

Just finished this with the wife. We loved it, even her.

I think they are Angels, or what we refer to as "angels" anyway. Gaius says "it doesn't like to be called that" so whomever is the puppet master (in BSG world) is whom we think of as God. I'm not really sure though, thinking about it they could also be demons, that were trying to lead Gaius and Six into the same path that's happened many times before (old Cylons helping new Cylons to end a war, giving them ress. technology, so they can just destroy themselves again). But it didn't go the way they thought.

In that regard, maybe Kara was the only, real angel. She never seen the other "angels/demons" so who knows. But then she's supposed to be the harbinger of death, lead humanity to its end, which could mean harbinger to the cylons and the "end" could be taking them to finish their lives on Earth (and starting the new half-breed that would eventually be us, from Hera).

Did the Admiral actually build a cabin, or did he bury Laura, talk to himself for a few, then get in the raptor and fly to the sun? If he didn't, where'd he put the raptor so they wouldn't find the technology?

I think the writing did get lost, and I'm glad they didn't extend it more seasons. Honestly, I think they could have done everything in 3 seasons and it would have been more solid.

Obviously they were pushing intelligent design, since the "nuked earth" had the same looking continents as the "new" Earth.

I thought Kara was going to be the harbinger of death for the cylons and saving humanity. It all got convoluted and IMO really really stupid. When shows try to add so much depth and meaning they are bound to loose their way.

In BSG:Razor there is the old guy in the tub like the hybrids, is he Anders or at least what Anders will become since everything repeats itself?

Or theres so much depth and meaning (and nonsense as well) that working it out and having fun with it becomes too hard for some people. For them, theres American Idol.

I'd rather have a show that tries and fails occasionally that a show that never tries. For what it was, BSG was an amazing piece of television and in retrospect, a product of a confluence of events and people that probably won't be repeated.

It's depth is why I love it so.

We started watching it again. An episode in bed. It's so good it makes it hard to stop and go to sleep.

These types of games are always the most fun when playing with friends and family. I don't think all your friends and family are going to know how to play real instruments, or like the same music as you, so it's "slim" they can bring over their "real" instruments and have a jam band with you in your living room.

I liked the ending (it was decent anyway). I think that the writer's strike gave them too much time & they over thought it.

Having said that...

When Adama jumps the Galactica into the atmosphere... Wow! It's the only time outside of sports that I literally jumped out of my seat & cheered.
