The term "Franchise QB" is lingo used in the NFL...by the media, experts, coaches, etc. to represent an elite QB.

It means a quarterback a team builds around, that they think will be good enough to win them games and worth planning around. It does not mean elite.

I find it funny how people post things like Defense is still the Key and You must have a Francise QB to win. What ever team is winning people will always post how we need to be succesful at that position.
