Sure, if you never want to see a deep pass completed again. Dude has no arm or zip on the ball. People complain about Clausen's arm strength, I would hate to see what they say about Pike.

I never said I thought he could be our starting franchise QB. I just said I'd like to see how he plays in a creative offense unlike what we ran last year. Who knows maybe he'll shock some people and become a decent backup QB for us. It's not Clausen's arm strength that bothers me it's his low and slow throwing motion. I'd like to see the stats on how many of his passes got tipped at the line of scrimmage, it's got to be in the 30's if not more.

I lol'd at your notion of giving up a top 10 RB and a 6th round pick for a guy who probably wouldn't demand any more than a 4th / 5th round in the first place.

Why are all of you people saying "he has to get a new contract to make this deal" so emphatically?? That is a freaking given. There isn't a team in the league that would even listen to the Bengals if Palmer wasn't willing to renegotiate.

Don't care much about Palmer as I believe the best bet is to find a guy that's still under 30 that we can get at least 2-3 years out of him until we find our franchise QB.

But one thing's becoming more and more clear: we probably will find our starter in the FA as it is starting to become more and more flooded with QB's. A good thing for us. They keep coming out of the wood work. It also means contract prices go down too as they will take less money to find a home and starting job when they have more competition.
