The Chargers beat the Colts in the regular season and then again in the divisional playoffs last year.

This is faulty logic.

A) We lose to the Giants, that means we've dropped 4 losses to NFC opponents. That's not good when tiebreakers kick in, and if we drop another game, that's 11-5, and if Minnesota wins out they can usurp the 2nd seed from us.

Who knows if we even meet the Giants in the championship game? They might be eliminated themselves in the divisional playoffs.

What it comes down to is earning home field throughout. And when it comes to playing on our home turf, we're better than anybody else in the league. We've seen this team play on the road, and it ain't very good, but if we can bear down and beat NY and the Saints, we'll have a decent road record at 5-3. Given we beat the Broncos, that's even better as well.
