Peppers is a thug and an punk. the POS screwed us for years taking more plays off than he actually tried.

The hit on rogers? Illegal as hell. Crown of the helmet to the face of Rogers.

Peppers a thug? I've done seen it all. That word gets thrown around too much in this forum, and it's sickening.

true.

I just can't think of 1 DE that has played in the past 10 yrs that doesn't disappear. Great DEs simply can disappear....especially those in a 4-3 running a cover 2 heavy scheme.

Allen was regarded by most here as the best DE in the NFL Peppers' last season. He disappeared that year in games......especially after the comments were made after his primetime game early that season.

I agree with you. In fact, if you look at that season for Allen, he got most of his sacks in 3 or 4 games, and didn't really have much of an impact in the others.

My issue with peppers is not that he isn't a very good defensive end. He is, not doubt about it. Perhaps among the top 5 in the league. But he is definitely not worth what he got paid.

what excuses? I don't think there was a DE in football that played better than him this season.

again, the Bears were the 30th ranked offense this year. The D got them that far. He can't be expected to be dominate every single game. Not realistic for a DE.

this ain't fantasy football where guys like Charles Johnson are better b/c the stat sheet is better.

Both Mathis and Freeney were better, as was Ware and yes- Charles Johnson.

Suck? No. Worth the money and hype he's gotten? Hell no.

If he had the heart or motor to match his freakish athletisism he'd be the greatest ever.

It got funny listening to Joe Buck. "Peppers is coming from the outside."

As peppers is pushed 5 yards behind the QB by the Left tackle of the Packers.

Freeney isn't even a top 10 DE. he's a top 10 pass rusher, but there are several guys I'd want over him. he is one of the worst "star" DE's at defending the run that I have ever seen. there is a reason the Colts finish among the worst in run defense every single season, and it's because their DE's are only good at rushing the passer.

Charles Johnson was a beast but I'm trying to stay objective so I won't comment on him.

Ware(I'm assuming you're talking about Dallas Ware) is an OLB.

Peppers went through a transformation these past two years. When we first drafted him, he was the silent warrior. However, ever since the contract issues and now his experience with Chicago, he turned into Darth Peppers.:D This year he probably did more public interviews than all his seasons in Carolina combined. The money has changed him.:frown5:

I appreciate Peppers time here and the contributions he made, and he is very talented, but you would have to agree his performance in the NFC championship game today was a pretty big letdown for a guy as talented as he is.

Peppers has a long-standing tendency to vanish in big games and that's alive and well.
