Don't be surprise if the Panthers move in next few years

If Charlotte is no longer viable, there is another option in the Carolinas. Raleigh has been on the up despite the economic turn down, IT and pharmaceuticals are doing just fine. I honestly think this area could support a pro football team just as well as Charlotte does (~1.5 mil people in the triangle area) - the number of people that turn out for NCSU football games is not too much smaller than what you find at an NFL game. I'm not saying Carter-Finley is suitable, but there are still plenty of places that a new stadium could be built. People here love their sports, they sure took to the Hurricanes quickly when many said hockey couldn't hack it in ACC sports country.

I hope that Charlotte pulls through ok, got a lot of friends there, but there's a good chance the Panthers could flourish in Wake County if it totally collapsed.

ALUMNI! Plus, 30,000+ Students who all want to go...I can't believe you're comparing the two..soooooo Columbia could support the Panthers....or could Knoxville (who support 100,000 fans at each UT game)

New stadium? Get real..the Panthers will NEVER move to Raleigh...EVER.

Do you not realize what they call Cary? Center Area for Relocated Yankees. 75% of Canes fans have that "other team" anyways....The Canes have been successful, I'm not turning that down...but w/o relocated Northerners the Canes would have never moved here or survived. And the reason the NHL puts teams in cities that can only support 1 pro-franchise is because the city CAN ONLY SUPPORT ONE PRO FRANCHISE (ie: Raleigh, San Jose, Columbus) The NHL is notorious for placing teams in non-traditional sports markets because those towns will care more for the only team they have (regardless of what sport it is)

No way Raleigh would support the Panthers as much as Charlotte...Raleigh homers...

If the banking isn't doing well...than why would they move to a city that will cost them more to operate their business...if it's about money...BoA won't leave Charlotte.

Out of all the cities in the NFL, Charlotte is currently doing much better than a large majority. Charlotte was the last city to not see the house market collapse.

Let's just lock this thread already.

Im not gonna say what my source does but it handles a lil more than just tv programming.

Its same reaction when I told people that Wachovia is about go bye bye. Believe it or not.

PS: Wells Fargo is liable for that tower, if tower is not completed Wachovia would get sued for breach of contract which will cost more than cost of completion plus legal cost would be huge. easy math.

I'm not gonna argue who has the bigger pecker with you on a damn message board. Use your brain man, the TV programming handles alot of stuff no one in the public see's. I knew about the sale months before it went down too, I knew the recession was coming months before it started.

Since the sale Wells Fargo execs and Wachovia execs have been at the studio non stop having meetings discussing this very topic (where Wells Fargo will be headed up) THEY ARENT MOVING. I take my first comment back, you are a total idiot to honestly believe that someone who works for the INSIDER TV programming at Wachovia wouldnt have a heads up on EVERYTHING going on inside of the company. Jesus, I've never encountered such a level of douchebaggery in my life.

I had to come out of hibernation and dodge the Valentine heart to reply to this before it gets any farther and gets locked down.

Most of the movers and shakers in Charlotte know that BOA will eventually move their headquarters to NYC. It just makes more sense for the global market and who and where their contacts are. With the new investment bank acquistion it will make even more sense. You can move the headquartes of your company without moving your complete infastructure. It is not an all or nothing proposition.

If we are not in a recession I would hate to see what one looks like. After tomorrows unemployment report the death spiral will continue and might lead us to something even worse. What prices are going up? We are in an ever increasing deflationary cycle.

Where do you go to school???
