I really doubt it was hurney's call, unless he completely went against the grain of his whole career out of nowhere.

He quite frankly didn't look all that athletic when he was playing in the preseason last year.

Still it's too early to say anything at this point, other than the Panthers royally f**ked up trading a 2nd round pick in the 2011 draft for a 5th round player, particularly when chances were likely that the Panthers were going to be in the bottom half of the league and therefore the pick was likely to be early second round.

And if the Panthers draft another WR, he may very well get cut or sent to the practice squad just because of roster numbers.

Who really knows.... I want to give him a pass from last year though.

He needs to learn to be better on punt returns, that's how he'll get other opportunities.

It's all up to him though, if he comes into camp and works his tail off and raises some coaches' eyebrows, they'll find a way to get him involved I'm sure of it.

Will he ever be worthy of a 2nd round pick (and 33rd overall if you want to think that), most likely not. It was a bad pick. BUT, if he can contribute to our team somehow I'll be happy with that.

I was actually with Foxy on this one. Just like I didn't think Clausen should start as a rookie. I especially didn't think a guy who hadn't played WR since high school should see an NFL field without at least a year to develop. I do however think he should have gotten it together on PR's. But PR was all I was hoping for for the first couple years. "project" does not mean "instant star" seriously look it up.....no where in the definition; true story.

Rivera has emphasized that his coaching staff will be teachers. I think that will be good for the young players Edwards could very well become an exciting player here. Would not bet against it.
