Most good offenses have 4-5 bread and butter plays that they run every week. I don't know why so many fans think this is specific to John Fox and the Panthers. It's not like they never add anything or never change things up a little bit...everybody does. If you can't execute your bread and butter plays though, none of those trick plays everybody likes so much will do any good.

On one hand, this means that there is some legitimacy to the complaints about our general philosophy about offense, it's based more on execution than having a large encyclopedia of plays and trying to "outsmart" the defense with trick plays.

On the other hand, when the team does execute, the result can be VERY frustrating and demoralizing to the opponent. It's basically sending the opponent the message of "We're going to run these plays over and over again and there's nothing you can do to stop it."

On the defensive side of the ball is anyone else sick of blitzing the house on 3rd and long?It doesn't seem like we get a lot of "pressure sacks." I know that Garcia is a different kind of QB but it seems to be a trend lately to blitz and let up 8-10 yards instead of letting Pep and maybe one linebacker chase the QB down and get a coverage sack.
