We must figure out a way to trade down

Hurney likes to trade on draft day, and he's been on the better side of deals more than once.

Been on the losing side of deals a few times too... and those losing deals seem to be ones that make you scratch your head. Everette Brown and AE for example. But loved the Otah trade. (Granted he does not turn into Bruce Nelson).

The combine does a good job of showing people off. Hes got the intangibles, I hope he spends this offseason learning how to properly read a defense. I've heard rumors that he was not a good fit for the half-spread that Mizzou runs. To be honest, I dont really care if we draft him or not. At this point what I've seen from Fairley, I'd rather have Gabbert, and Im not sold on AJ Green at all.

I really do not think we will trade down. The other teams like us that have a top 10 pick all have multiple holes to fill. That being the case, they will have to give up multiple picks to trade up for just 1 player, pay him the $$$, and believe that player is worth the #1 overall pick. I just don't see that happening. Almost every year we hear the team with the #1 pick taking offers ( Most years there are players who are very worthy of the #1 pick) and they don't get offers worth much. Plus this year there is no consensus #1, #2, #3 pick, it's all going to be pretty much a mystery and this draft will probably be one of the more unpredictable ones at the top of the draft.

Only trade I can see is Cinci wanting AJ Green since TO and Ocho Cinco are as good as gone. ....and we draft Peterson, Amukamura, Fairley, Dareus, Bowers, Quinn or possibly even Julio Jones or Gabbert at #3 (though I want Green) and get extra picks.

Cardinals, Vikings, 49ers might want to trade up to assure their top QB choice too but traded to #1 might cost them too much.

I remember watching Clausen's pro day.. thinking man he can make all the throws, I am so glad we drafted him. The Combine provides a look at your athletic ability and strength, not football ability.

If I remember correctly, he only missed one ball that the WR had go right off the fingertips.
