I try to shy away from the "hey, wouldn't (Player X) make a great coach" thing, but Proehl was one about whom I believed it.

Hope his interview went well. Would lovr to see him succeed here.

In general I think that the fan sentiment for players to be coaches just because they were good players is categorically wrong. In Proehl's case, though, I think it might be right.

If he gets the job it would be an interesting choice and could turn out to make someone in our FO look pretty damn smart.

Hypertalented superstar player generally equates to lousy coach.

Smart, hard-working moderately talented player that maximizes what he has? That guy can morph into a good coach.
