Nah, the unrealistic expectations are coming from the people who post "great hire" and put 15 exclamation points behind it everytime a new name comes up. Realistically, none of us have a clue about how good this coaching staff will be. Yes, we have a great defensive mind as the new HC, but can he lead and motivate a team? I have no idea. I sure as hell hope he can, but I just can't get that excited until I know for sure.

Ricky must have some desirable coaching qualities if other NFL teams have requested interviews with him over the past two seasons. They went after him he didn't go after them. I hope we sign him and he does great. That would be something else to tip the scales of hope for next season.

I met Ricky on the sidelines of a WFU football game the weekend after he caught the game winning pass in Detroit (week 6 2005 I think). Panthers were on a bye the weekend I met him. Super nice guy and real friendly. Huge freakin hands that swallowed mine when I shook his hand.

You can't get more respect just walking in the door as he can with rings and experience in all those SB games. If those young WR we've got don't listen up then they are stupid. Sign him up yesterday!

I'm sure he was waiting on a an opportunity for a Panthers job. He loves his facility and Greensboro and I doubt he would want to leave that behind for a job in some other shitty state.

I credit Smitty's rise to dominance to Ricky anyway. God knows Williamson didn't develop ANY WR talent on this team. Just my opinion though.
