not true. Luck is an academic junior. He graduates next spring.

Ultimately though I think Luck would have had a harder time finishing his degree, since Clausen is taking advantage of the questionable labor situation right now I think... that and I suspect he isn't getting a degree in architecture or whatever.

clausen is really really far from good or capable right now. i think he could still become an effective starter, maybe. if shula is hired as QB coach, he could maybe get jimmy to become a starter of fiedler/croyle quality as he has done in the past. that would be a useful backup and spot starter in case of injury. also there's some intergalactic chance that the light comes on and he begins to be a difference maker. who knows?

the silver lining in clausen's rookie season is that there were in fact extenuating circumstances and it was his rookie season. lots of, if not most QBs thrown into a starting role on losing teams in their rookie season look dreadful, and some still eventually evolve into normal, useful players.

saying "he sucks, he's hopeless, get used to it or get over it" is really a pointless statement and not evidence of an argument. he does suck right now, but saying a player who just finished his rookie season in a pretty poor situation is hopeless does little more than exhibit head-banging-against-the-wall pessimism.
