A positive spin on Clausen

I'm going to stop posting about Clausen.

I was so underwhelmed by his play that I don't know if I can stand to watch another season with him under center. I actually get upset thinking about it. Because of that, I'm not being fair about his chances to turn things around and just end up ranting about how much he sucks. It doesn't help watching Freeman, Ryan and Brees tear us new assholes twice a year.

A few posters who know what they're talking about (Cyberjag being one) seem to think he's got a decent chance to turn it around, so I'll hang on to that and just wish Clausen the best and hope I'm being ignorant.

Armanti Edwards was not credited with a single turnover.

Armanti Edwards did not have a single interception all year.

-and-

Armanti Edwards completed 100% of his passes the entire year.

StartArmanti

I'm all over giving AE his chance now

Yes, he improved. He fumbled early and often, and fixed those problems as the season progressed.

His completion percentage in his first four games was 49%, his middle four 52%, and last four 57%. His YPA in his first four games was 4,.99, and improved to 5.3 by season's end. His rating in his first four games was 53.3, second four 58.0, and final four 64.5.

Keep hating.

you're right.

those factors made him look like he was throwing through molasses and chucking the ball at HIS shoulder level.

I've not given up on Clausen but how the hell can any REASONABLE Panther Fan suggest we go into next year expecting to build around him?? You go into next year HOPING he does well, but you have to already have some plans for the future that do not involve him turning around his career...

yeah and he did throw 2 of his 3 TDs in the last 3 weeks. Still, you can't seriously look at his play and go "Wow, he really improved!" He went from being okay until Chicago (where he was eaten alive) to being damn terrible until the last 3 weeks, where he had a couple mediocre games and one abysmal one. The breakdown of the stats doesn't really tell how he played in those games, either. =|
