Vince Young a possibility/opportunity for us perhaps???

Andrew Luck never said he didn't want to play for the Panthers. He went back to Stanford to get his degree. If you would seriously rather keep spending your money to go watch a mediocre team lead by a mediocre QB fine by me do it. In my opinion it's worth the pain on a few terrible seasons to enjoy being a Super Bowl contender year in and year out. Look at the San Antonio Spurs they tanked a season just to get Tim Duncan and now they've got what 4 NBA Championships with him?

Im just saying, if the goal is to tank next season and make it a "wash". Why should fans continue pumping money into the organization expecting wins? I would say the same about our Bobcats if ownership decided to put a poo product out there every night in hopes of drafting a guy who might and might not pan out. IMO, this team doesnt have the luxury of throwing away seasons.

And what happens the first time he had a bad game, gets vociferously booed and throws a tantrum? Then do we start worrying about his character?

What happens when he improves our offense into the top 10 and leads us to a winning record overall? Will you concede you seriously have no clue about what he can and cant do as a QB?

I wouldn't expect the fans to spend their money if the team made it public they were tanking the season. I actually want a lockout so we don't have to earn that #1 pick again. You might have a better idea of where I'm coming from if your Falcons didn't have just 1 year between franchise QB's. Lucky.

Regardless of staff, the owner has repeatedly stated that he does not want players of his character on the team.

I'm just imagining the conversation as some here would see it.

RIVERA: Hey Jeff, it's Ron, your old teammate from the Bears. I'm coaching the Panthers now.

FISHER: Hey Ron! I heard. Congratulations. What's up?

RIVERA: What can you tell me about Vince Young?

FISHER: Well, let's see. When he was on our team, he was immature, thin-skinned, was once on a suicide watch, and in his final game with us got pissed at the fans and threw his pads in the stands. He's got great physical skills but lacks maturity, leadership and intelligence. Funny thing is even with all that, he almost cost me my job. Me and the other coaches had to go explain reality to the team owner just so we could get him shipped out of here.

RIVERA: Oh...So, do you think I should take a look at him for the Panthers?

FISHER: Sure! Hey, what could it hurt? After all, you've got other solid quarterbacks in camp so that you can absorb the hit if he fails, right?

(yeah, that'll happen) :willy_nilly:

I'm no more a Falcon fan than Scott is an unbiased fan when it comes to QBing. Ignore his posts and rants, there just full of excuses for "nice guys" who underachieve and cant do their jobs correctly. He relates to their struggles. :D

VY would perform much better than the guys we have out there right now. And judging by how quickly our "leader" Beason has lobbied for him, I'd say our guys would believe in him more than they do Clausen or Moore. Right now our QBs are a handicap to their teammates and hold this team back a great deal. Thats a big burden that takes its toll over time.

No bout a doubt it he is athleticly better than what we have now, no question about that. If he would come in and get down to business without the drama he would stand a chance...we just dont know when hes going to go off and tell coach Rivera to suck it, or get a gun and well you know..... He has made a name for himself and its not in the record books. What desperate team will take a chance on him only to be disappointed in a few years after their playoff hopes are dashed because he's freakin for whatever reason, sure there will be a new one.... hes one season away from frying hamburgers at MickeyD's....

I'm very confused....Vince has never played for a top 10 offense in either yards or points since he came into the league. He has also had exactly 1 winning season. What are you basing this hypothetical on?

Think I could get a date with Rachel McAdams? What if I move to South Dakota and it happens then?

And a better passer. Numbers dont lie. Vince threw more TDs last year than our QBs did in half the games.

You dont think he knows what people are saying about him? You dont think he's out to prove them wrong?

we just dont know when hes going to go off and tell coach Rivera to suck it, or get a gun and well you know.....

Coach Rivera doesnt come off as a snake like Jeff Fisher. I dont think Vince is gonna have any problems with his next coaching staff and will look to have a better working relationship than the one he was drafted into 5 years ago.

LMAO@Vince one season away from frying hamburgers. In 5 years people will still know who Vince Young is and talk about him as a QB. In 5 years, our QBs will be selling life insurance and no one will remember their names like all the other Panther QBs before them. Yall act like this guy is going to jail. LMFAO. He's just switching teams and letting people know ahead of time he's gonna have a big season next year.

So we should count you among those who are desperate to follow a pattern that has shown nothing but failure? Wouldn't you rather find a mentally stable human who has a chance to win a title?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you don't like white QB's. Right?

Extends to white people in general as he insists we're all racist

(like I said, don't bother; he's got nothing worth listening to)

With the young guys we have, what we most need is a veteran QB with maturity and leadership skills. That's definitely not Young :nonod:

What Young needs is a team that can afford to take a chance on him because they have other fallback options. That's definitely not us :nonod:

Our needs don't match up. Plus the head coach he was feuding with - and nearly cost his job - is an old teammate and colleague of our head coach. One of his other teammates, Leslie Frazier, seems willing to take the gamble.

I seriously doubt we will.
