Vince Young a possibility/opportunity for us perhaps???

It probably has been explored. Then they realized that he doesn't fit the mold the FO likes in all of it's players regarding character, Rivera and Fischer are probably boys and Rivera won't take that crap from him, and this offense doesn't need another immature piece added.

Not one thing makes sense about signing him.

You think this has been explored?? I dont. The Panthers are just getting their coaching staff in place. Boys or not - Rivera, Hurney, Chud, our QB coach etc should talk to and meet with VY themselves.

There is one BIG thing that makes sense into looking at VY and that is the prospects of another season with no QB. Or having to trade another future early draft pick, or one of our RB for either Orton or McNabb or Colb (of which I dont think either will be traded by their teams anyway) or bringing back Matt Moore as some are suggesting

Dont get me wrong, I am not saying sign the guy this instant BUT I just hope the Panthers are not just excluding him because of this "character" stuff. THIS TEAM NEEDS A QB THAT CAN WIN GAMES!!!!

Don't put it in quotes, it's not fake. He is a legit headcase. He's not the type of player you can't win consistently with and he's not a leader. JR won't sign him, it doesn't matter what the coach wants.

The things he's done scream immaturity. One of the bigger things, you know besides trying to kill himself and throwing his uniform and pads into the crowd, is that instead of rehabbing his injured ankle or wrist, he decided to go to Texas to open up his restaurant.

If a guy is really committed to football and wants to be the best, why would he schedule the opening of his restaurant to come in the middle of football season? Why would he leave his team to do so instead of trying to get healthy and get back on the field?

I will give you the headcase thing... I probably should not have put that in quotes. I just dont like the thought of a team with a huge need at QB not doing the due dilegence themselves, talking and meeting with the guy, etc. You seam to think they have, me not so sure. I still think this new staff can and at least should.

Regardless of staff, the owner has repeatedly stated that he does not want players of his character on the team.

Honestly, i like him, BUT i feel that he and Rivera could clash. i like Young and want him to do well, but i just dont see him in Carolina for some weird reason, i DO see him in Minnesota, Miami or Washington.

I could see him in Miami more than any other place. Probably as a backup though.

I am sorry but at some point the above is bs. Maybe now we are defining character issues and headcase differently. This is nothing like looking into a QB who just got out of prison for dog fighting. If JR blocks his coaches from even seriouly exploring, looking into VY, discussing and meeting with the guy then that is cr*p. I hear ya though.... JR might just say "no, no, no". I am just not interested in another season with crap at QB again, and would like to think JR would allow his staff in this case to do their due diligence.
