Vince Young a possibility/opportunity for us perhaps???

Racist. You forgot your hood. VY is the greatest, most stable, nonwhite, FA QB in the league right now. The only reason you (and Fischer) don't appreciate him is because you are a card carrying racist. Please refrain from posting on a board full of race police or you will continue to be called names. Thanks.

Reverse racist! How dare you imply a black QB is better than a white one! I'll have you know our QB stable is the most respected, classiest, elite one out there. We embody "class" to the point other franchises are jealous of our QBs and are dying to come play for us. Clausen & Moore are the "thinking man's" QB, their decision making is so good!!! They will be on the cover of Madden one day like that horrible QB Vince Young. In fact, the way they do their jobs, represents how us Carolinians do ours. We need help, we need excuses, we need people above us looking out for us, because we dont believe in hard work in Carolina and just dont have the smarts to handle "competition" on the job. We believe in privilege and annointing people for "looking like" they can do the job. We fold under pressure just like our leaders.

Vince Young has a personality that would not be respected by the Big Cat. That alone would prevent him coming here, I believe.

The Big Cat has a reputation of not opening his check book up, thats why no pro bowl QB who wants to get paid and play for a top flight organization would come here. What big time QB has he ever led here? Jake Delhomme? LMAO. I wonder what we're gonna say when the Big Cat is no longer with us, which could be a lot sooner than later. We need to do whats best for the organization, because doing whats best for Jerry is appeasing his NFL buddies and putting more money in his pocket he cant take with him in the afterlife.

Here's the real story and facts of what happened between Young and Fisher.

1. In 2009 the Titans started the season 0-6 with Kerry Collins.

2. Fisher benched Collins and started Young.

3. VY went on to with the last 9 out of 11 games of the season and brought the Titans to 8-8 for the year.

4. Meanwhile it was well documented that there was friction between Fisher and Young and most fans believe Fisher hated Young's guts.

5. 2010 season, VY is named starting QB and rightfully so once again.

6. They win the first game of the 2010 season and the Titans are 1-0.

7. In the second game Young has a bad game throws 2 picks and a fumble and Fisher benched him for a scrub!

8. Vince Young was fuming and threw his pads in the crowd, as he should have, after winning 10 out of the last 12 games because he got benched for having ONE bad game! NO ONE believed Fisher made the right move at the point, including VY.

9. After that thing just continued to get worse between VY and Fisher

If the titans were 0-6 in 2009, how did they go on to win 9 of 11 games of that season? Obviously since they ended 8-8 he must have gone 8-2; still a great mark. You must be including the next year's game.

I think you are confused about the Titans season, PFFL. The incident with the pads and craziness that people talk about happened in November, not in the first week.

Vince Young won his first game of the season then had 3 turnovers in 3 quarters against the Steelers, so his coach pulled him for the 4th quarter, but he also said he'd start the next week... and I don't think there was any major meltdown. See article about it here: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5597420 ... Now, read the article and tell me where Fisher is sabotaging Young and trying to ruin him and treating him unfairly?? If Young reacted like this to everything, he'd still be a Titan!

Young played against the Giants and won. He then played until the Jaguars, where he was injured. The Titans won. At this point they were 4-2, pretty good. Collins plays GREAT against Philly (they won) but then VY comes back in against San Diego where he gets hurt AGAIN, the Titans are now at 5-3. When Collins went down against Miami, the Titans brought Young in and he threw for under 100 yards and had 2 turnovers and 1 TD, but he was injured, so no surprise. They lost the game.

In a loss to Washington (putting them at 5-5), he injured his throwing hand in overtime, and Fisher said he might need season ending surgery... and when the game ended, this happened:

But after Gano's game-winning kick, all the attention turned to Young who tossed his shoulder pads and No. 10 jersey up into the stands. Young talked with Fisher, dressed quickly and walked past reporters and even brushed off a teammate who tried to talk to him before he stormed out of the stadium.

so in all honesty, since Collins won them the game against Philly, Vince Young was 4-5 as a quarterback this season. The team didn't do any better with him injured and out and then the whole craziness after that... but I'm tired of people acting like Vince Young burned it up this year and Fisher just decided to make his life hard by being a jerk to him.

Others may agree with you. I do not.

The 2009/2010 season was a fluke before it ever began. Any personnel moves the team made before this lame duck year was a product of a business opportunity (CBA expiration) that is not expected to repeat again. When the new CBA gets done, and it could be a long while, many things will make sense to Panther fans that have not made sense in a long time.

Richardson will do what it takes to win games once the contractual terms and legal obligations of an NFL franchise business actually means something. He never would have made it in the entertainment business if what you said, and others have repeated, were true.

The salary cap records prove that Richardson typically spends in the middle of the pack of NFL owners, with an occasional year where the Panthers spent more than most teams.

What big name FA QB has Richardson ever signed? He may overspend on his own players at times, but JR is not known for being a player in the FA market. Our team has been primarily built and developed via the draft. The QBs we usually go after are "backups" or guys that have strikes that we take a chance on in hopes they can figure it out here. Nothing in Richardson's history suggests he would open up his wallet and bring a pro bowl caliber QB to Carolina. You can call last season a fluke, but nationally and locally he cemented his reputation with that blunder. Jerry Richardson and the Panthers are known for being cheap and safe, not being big spenders and risk takers.

Our QBs struggle to win regular season games, have literally thrown twice as many INTs as TDs, and had a combined 56 passer rating last season. They dont sell jerseys and wont be asked to be on the cover of Madden. But we still see ourselves in them and their failures so Ima be patient they'll turn into Jim Kelly one day.

*fixed*

please protect us Jerry! Keep us safe.

Wow you did an amazing job showing how a room temperature quarterback rating, an inability to perform in the playoffs, and a +0 TD/INT ratio makes Vince Young a good quarterback. Tell us more, KT, oh artisan of the turd polish.

Also I don't get why you don't like Jimmy Clausen and Matt Moore. You seem to have a thing for bad quarterbacks.

f**king poo or get off the pot. All you ever talk about is how great this dude is when his NFL career has been by and large underwhelming and disappointing, and then project retarded rhetorical arguments about how bad Jimmy Clausen blows when cornered. You post like Vince Young plays quarterback-mean poo until seriously challenged. I don't want more crybaby "project" bitches and one and done jackoffs on this team. Vince Young isn't tough enough to win when things get hard or when it matters in this league, so he's worthless in my book.

Not getting involved with the usual claptrap that follows VY threads.

My view is he needs to do pretty much what MV did and go to a team that had an entrenched QB (McNabb), where he can sit and learn how to be a successful long term passer in the league. Then the team can slowly incorporate him into the game plans, with a view of building the play calling around what he does if he proves capable enough to take over the #1 spot.

Bringing him in here will just allow him to settle into the same old habits and ways of playing. No one to sit him down and tell him how it is, no one to learn from. I think there is no chance he comes here, but then I also find it doubtful he will comand big $$$ and find a #1 spot somewhere. He is just too risky.

Unfortunately he has proved he can't take it when things get tough for a team and people start to question him. He is a decent player, just not good enough to over look his short comings.

Carolina is not the right place for him, and we are not the type of team that needs him.

Agreed. The question is will whether his ego will allow him to accept that.

Right now, he's on his way to being the next Ryan Leaf.

Yup, my personal opinion is that he might need a wake up call before being humble enough to do what Vick as done, which hopefully it is not as extreme as what Vick got caught and punished for. Not saying he is that kind of character, but I just feel he needs a hard dose of reality before he has the right mentality for a starting position. Certainly before he is humble enough to accept most teams do not view him as a #1 QB right now.

Honestly he's very likely to land some place as the #1... there are too many teams that feel they are just a quarterback away from competing for him to end up a backup behind a good QB. He doesn't have anywhere near the character concerns Vick did so someone will gamble on him.

I just don't see it being us at all. I also agree that he would likely be best served going into an established system and learning things the right way.
