Vince Young a possibility/opportunity for us perhaps???

Steve McNair was great. Therefore, Vince Young could be great. Solid reasoning there :sosp:

A big reason why the Titans had a losing record this year - and why Young got benched -was all the drama surrounding him (i.e. that stuff you think doesn't matter).

We don't need that here.

What does Steve McNair have anything to do with my statement? Vince Young won the last 9 out of 11 in 2009, not Steve McNair. You have completely lost me with that one or you have just lost yourself at this point, not sure.

But speaking of McNair, for the record, it should be noted Fisher also locked out Steve McNair out of the stadium and told him never to come back.

And PS: I'm not advocating we take Fisher AND Young which is what would certainly cause drama anywhere. Just Young.

You're not going back to the "Fisher is a racist" argument again, are you?

No I'm still trying to figure out what your argument was. You keep ignoring it and bringing up McNair when all I was talking about was Young. I believe you no longer know your facts at this point, and your just bringing up all kinds of irrelevant things to avoid conceding a point, so I'm going to just stop now.

Like I said, you are doing a piss poor job of going around in circles jumping from one silly point to another to avoid facing reality and the facts about Young: he would be a major upgrade over anyone on our roster right now, and when it comes to winning games he gives us less risk, not more, than a guy like Clausen.

It was quite a bit more complicated than that. The Titans didn't want him practicing and getting injured and being on the hook for the money they owed him supposedly because they wanted to trade him. Who knows. (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2474267)

Nowhere near the animosity that existed between Young and Fisher I don't think.

Still, Fisher has had issues with more than just one QB. And I'm sorry but they did both happen to be black and Fisher does look like a redneck pulled straight out of Nascar, mustache and all.

VY has only had problem with one coach, and his position coach seems to like him quite a bit. If he was that crazy, I'm sure he wouldn't have just come out endorsing him like that.

Funny cause last year everyone thought I was Moore. And the same people that were saying things like what you say above because I was talking FACTS when it came to Moore are the same ones that finally took their hate glasses off and now singing the same tune.

Don't worry though I'm a patient man. I don't need instant gratification.

See all this means for me, is that I need to stop arguing. It means you have ran out of actual reasons based on facts and logic that are actually relevant to the argument so you begin with personal insults.

So thank you...my logic is quite undeniable ;p

So let's see...

Fact 1: He got into a fight at a strip club

Police reports, witness testimony and video evidence all show this to be true.

Fact 2: Arguing with fans

Video evidence of him jawing at fans, displaying obscene gestures at fans and, on at least one occasion, throwing his pads and helmet at fans.

Fact 3: Shouting matches with HC

Video evidence, as well as his own teammates admissions of multiple occurences of he and Fisher getting into it on the sidelines and in the locker room.

Fact 4: Semi suicidle episode

Admissions by his mother, teammates, head coach and hinself. As well as police reports including the fact that he had a loaded gun in the front seat with hin when he was finally found.

Whatever upside he has as far as physical abilities is far outweighed by these facts. FACTS that would lead anyone (other than you of course) to the LOGICAL conclusion that this is a mentally ubstable individual. One who is in no postion to lead young men in any way, shape or form.

Complete bullshit! Go do your research. Vince Young never admitted such thing just that he was upset and went over to a friend's house and hung out which is where they found him. People who want to kill themselves don't go over to friend's houses to chill. He stated he was embarrassed because people were saying such thing about him, but that he never wanted to do that and loved his life. He was depressed and upset because all his life he was used to being loved by his fans and the pressure got to him, but not to the point where he wanted to commit suicide. He was also cleared by a psychiatrist.

Here's the real story and facts of what happened between Young and Fisher.

1. In 2009 the Titans started the season 0-6 with Kerry Collins.

2. Fisher benched Collins and started Young.

3. VY went on to with the last 9 out of 11 games of the season and brought the Titans to 8-8 for the year.

4. Meanwhile it was well documented that there was friction between Fisher and Young and most fans believe Fisher hated Young's guts.

5. 2010 season, VY is named starting QB and rightfully so once again.

6. They win the first game of the 2010 season and the Titans are 1-0.

7. In the second game Young has a bad game throws 2 picks and a fumble and Fisher benched him for a scrub!

8. Vince Young was fuming and threw his pads in the crowd, as he should have, after winning 10 out of the last 12 games because he got benched for having ONE bad game! NO ONE believed Fisher made the right move at the point, including VY.

9. After that thing just continued to get worse between VY and Fisher.

THAT'S what really happened!

PS: The so called "suicide" issue was years ago also because of a similar situation where the fans. He took his benching quite a bit better this time around and simply wants to get the f**k out of there. Now that doesn't sound like someone that gets worse, but rather someone that learned from it. I still don't blame him for throwing his pads in the crowd. When Moore got benched earlier this year, he didn't have near the record VY did with the Panthers and he STILL ran right off the field pissed off and into the locker room.

Anyway I'm tired of arguing THIS retarded topic while not actually talking about meaningful things such as his actual QB play. It's late and I'm going to bed. Whatever happens I have no problem taking a bet with anyone that wherever Young goes he's going to continue to prove he is a winning QB and put up good numbers.

And some people say that all of this was Jeff Fisher's fault:out:

Vince Young losing his starting job to Collins and then about to be cut or traded should be a reality check to him and would have knocked some common sense into a normal person. His ESPN interview showed that he hasn't learned anything from all of this so there is a chance he never will.

His interview was a chance to change the mind's of GM's and fans. To show them that he could grow and learn from the past but he did not do that and instead showed only that he has learned absolutely nothing.

Reminds me of Dwayne Jarrett in the fact that he refuses to grow up, to mature, to be willing to change, to get better and get his head in the right place.

He is not an elite QB. Not even close. Plus he's a head case that has no respect for authority. I would rather have any other QB in the NFL than VY. ANY other one.

This thread has accomplished one thing, at least. It has convinced me that whoever we choose with the #1 pick will be OK by me. Because it could not possibly be a dumber move than signing VY.

Can't wait for draft day... I'm so giddy now!

Racist. You forgot your hood. VY is the greatest, most stable, nonwhite, FA QB in the league right now. The only reason you (and Fischer) don't appreciate him is because you are a card carrying racist. Please refrain from posting on a board full of race police or you will continue to be called names. Thanks.

Vince Young is fools gold. You cannot be a QB in the NFL if your teammates have no respect for you....and no one has any respect for this guy. I'm fairly certain my wife's cat is more intelligent than he is.

Oh, and mentally unstable. Thats a good QB trait.

Um, didn't they say pretty much the same about Michael Vick?

I don't see what we'd have to lose if we could pick up VY and see what happens. Maybe he busts, but he has huge upside compared to what we have now.

Thats exactly why people defend Fisher on this board and sympathize with such a pitiful coach. Fisher shitted on McNair after all he did for him, and sabotaged his franchise holding a grudge with Vince. But he has that "good ole boy" image that people like and he gives "good" interviews so that makes him a "great coach". You cant expect a coach like Fisher to be held to any kind of standard on this message board or be held accountable for his actions. All Fisher has to do is show up and wear those cool shades and people wont speak one word about his shortcomings as a coach. Thats why I dont ever expect him to win anything. The same people who will tell you VY isnt a leader for falling out with his coach, will tell you Kevin Greene was a great LBer, leader, coach, etc even though he threw a punch at one of his.

LMAO@Vince one season away from frying hamburgers. In 5 years people will still know who Vince Young is and talk about him as a QB. In 5 years, our QBs will be selling life insurance and no one will remember their names like all the other Panther QBs before them. Yall act like this guy is going to jail. LMFAO. He's just switching teams and letting people know ahead of time he's gonna have a big season next year.

....it can happen... Maurice Clarett
