Vince Young a possibility/opportunity for us perhaps???

I don't think he's going to grab someone who will demand to start...I think he will grab someone that Rivera himself demands to start.

While possible, I doubt it, since I'm pretty sure he specifically said he wanted to bring in competition at the quarterback position.

He'll get someone he believes can start. There is a difference between that and demanding that player starts.

Actually you don't really know that. And even if it was.......is there a point? Confidence that he will be on the roster?

Who cares? Do you have confidence that he can WIN more games than VY? All you are doing is a piss poor job of wiggling yourself out of having to admit something even you can't argue against....Vince Young would outplay and outscore Jimmy Clausen and ultimately gives us the better chance to -here it comes - WIN!

Remind me...What was the Titans record this year?

Here's a hint, it wasn't a winning record.

As a starter, Young won five games this year, and that was with Chris Johnson in the backfield and Randy Moss to throw to.

So tell me, with all that athletic ability on the field, how is it they finished the season 6-10?

Maybe it's because everybody in the league has athletic ability. The guys that rise above also have something more to offer than that. How else do you think the Patriots became a better team without Randy Moss?

I mean hey, so he was a head case. He was still an athletic freak, so naturally it made more sense to keep him right?

Apparently not :nonod:

I have very little confidence that Vince Young will get his head on straight, which means I don't want him here, regardless of his athletic abilities. But that's just a fan opinion. You also have the opinions of GMs who said they aren't interested in him as a starter.

And why? Because the fastest legs in the world don't mean squat if the brain controlling them has a screw loose :out:

Bottom Line: Young isn't what this team needs. And truthfully, we're not what he needs either.

But tell me, if we don't sign him, are you going to accuse Ron Rivera of being racist like you did Jeff Fisher?

Is anyone else getting the feeling that PFFL might actually be Vince Young?

That's the explanation I can find for all the VY knob slobbing.

Young is an athletically gifted, mediocre passing headcase with a sense of entitlement that rivals most Hollywood divas. He's gotten into altercations at strip clubs, shouting matches with fans, arguments with head coaches, quit on his team and alledgedly went on a quasi suicidal mental trip that led his own mother to put out an APB on him.

Sorry but that is not the type of player I want anywhere near any of the young guys we are trying to build our team around.

Yep.

If I were making a bet at this point, I''d bet on Volek.

Pretty much.

Like I said, we need a Rodney Peete. Young is way closer to being a Ryan Leaf than a Rodney Peete.

As an aside, it may be difficult to pick up Volek because he is highly prized by the Chargers and by all accounts he'd love to start but he enjoys playing for San Diego and has no problem backing up Rivers. So we may have to examine other options if it comes to it. He'll get a look for sure, though.

You do realize VY got benched for half this year right? The prior year he won his last 9 out of 11 games since he became starter. Are you going to just ignore that like you ignore everything else positive about him?

They finished 6-10 for the same reason we finished 2-14. Because their coaching and QB position was completed fudged all year round. No consistency and no stability.

Oh and here's what VY's former position coach and current Vikings coash is saying VY:

New Vikings QB coach puts in plug for Vince Young

"I think [Vince's] future is still to be written," Johnson said. "What I would officially say about him, and what needs to happen about him, is in the big picture he needs to be known and thought of more for what's happened on the field than what's happened off the field. I think that is true of him and any quarterback.

"I am going to go back to the late, great Steve McNair. When I'd talk about ratings and rankings and percentages of quarterbacks, Steve would hold his hand up and say, 'Craig, there is only one thing that matters for a quarterback. Do you win the game? If you are a quarterback and you win the game, that's good. If not, then it's on me.' That's how you are measured.

''Quoting what Steve said, has Vince been a winning quarterback in this league? Yes.''

Again, when it comes to VY ALL you point out are negatives. In all honesty I'm not even going to bother with this argument. Knowing this organization someone else will snag up VY before we ever get a chance to talk to him. And not everyone around the league are putting all the blame on VY when it comes to the Fisher/Young drama.

Funny cause last year everyone thought I was Moore. And the same people that were saying things like what you say above because I was talking FACTS when it came to Moore are the same ones that finally took their hate glasses off and now singing the same tune.

Don't worry though I'm a patient man. I don't need instant gratification.

See all this means for me, is that I need to stop arguing. It means you have ran out of actual reasons based on facts and logic that are actually relevant to the argument so you begin with personal insults.

So thank you...my logic is quite undeniable ;p

I would like to see Volek here, but there are other options out there if not. I think guys like Alex Smith, one of the two Raiders QBs or even Matt Moore would be viable veterans to bring in to compete with/back up Jimmy.

Steve McNair was great. Therefore, Vince Young could be great. Solid reasoning there :sosp:

A big reason why the Titans had a losing record this year - and why Young got benched -was all the drama surrounding him (i.e. that stuff you think doesn't matter).

We don't need that here.

Also the locker room was reportedly divided due to his constant whining and poor judgement concerning authority...not the sign of a leader

Sure there is, someone else can offer him a contract that he will take before we even decide to make an offer.

Obviously, we had a chance to talk to him then, and we just decided it wasn't worth moving quickly over. Considering he either has or will be discussed by the FO... I suspect that if he doesn't hear from us at all it'll be by our own choice.

It was. You had one guy making a silent protest with a towel while others came out in support of their coach. Not a pretty situation.
