Vince Young a possibility/opportunity for us perhaps???

He is still better than our poo stain quarterbacks with bad attitudes.

then we should find a quarterback with a good attitude, whoever it is you are referring to.

A lot of people around here wanted and still want Vick. My point is there are elite QB's right now with far greater mental instability and worse character issue and track record than Vince Young.

People just ignore it.

People meaning you and some others. Not everyone.

What makes you think JR will?

So the fact that there are a couple of guys who are worse means.....?

I'm having trouble coming up with someone who's shown more mental instability than Young.

(and it's not Big Ben; Roethlisberger isn't unstable, he's a stupid ass)

Ok so rape isn't a sign of psychological instability, just stupidy. Gotcha.

How about our very own Jake Delhome then? He was about as regularly mentally impaired as you could ask for a QB. I never had to watch the 4th game after us winning 3. I knew exactly what would happen. Jake mentally combusted just about every 4th game for half a decade.

Maybe if VY had his breakdowns on a more regular basis then he would be ok too. People would trust him more because they could expect it then.

It's actually you guys that sounds more immature than VY right now. Same guys that blew Jimmy Clausen's horn for months, a guy who wishes he had even half the mental stability VY has when on the field, are talking about VY's mental toughness.

Reality check: All our QB's last year had major mental breakdowns all year long and one of them still looks like he belongs in 11th grade!

Jake Delhomme hasn't been 'our very own" for quite a while now.

Bad play on the field doesn't equate to mental instability.

And again, we need a guy who can be a respected leader and mentor the younger players we have. Not even in the furthest stretch of the imagination does Young fill that role.

Are you Vince Young's agent?

I don't focus on Young's mental ability as much as I do his QB skills. He may win games, but he will never win "the" game. He is a running QB who refuses to learn how to pass from the pocket. Look at the game he played against the Steelers. They pretty much dumped him on his head. Good defenses do that to running qbs everytime, and you only play good defenses in the playoffs. (Unless you are playing against a 7-9 team who snuck into the playoffs.) Give me a guy who knows how to accurately read defenses and can move within the pocket. I don't mind a qb who can run for first downs, but don't let that be his best quality, that is why we have RUNNING BACKS.

Methinks there is some reason other than football that you have a sworn allegiance to Vince Young....because there isn't a shred of logic in the above argument that bad play=mentally unstable. None of our QBs have been on suicide watch nor had the emotional meltdowns Vince has become known for.

Something else must be at work here, because I would never insult your intelligence by believing that you actually look at the evidence and think that Vince Young can be described as mentally stable.

Yeah 7-9 teams like the Seahawks that beat the big bad defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints lol. Oh man watching them lose that game brought me great joy.

Ok Mr. Scott, you want to know what I remember about your prediction earlier this year? You wrote this HUGE article on Jimmy Clausen last year, even made the front page of this forum describing his leadership abilities....

In case you need reminding, you couldn't have possibly been more wrong about him so forgive me for not taking your passing of judgment on VY with anything other than a huge grain of salt. Something along the lines of how Clausen is a true leader and when he steps on that field he's going to take charge, etc etc.....We both know how you couldn't have possibly be more wrong. I remember reading that, and I remember thinking to myself "I don't see it. I agree with a lot of things but I just don't see leadership from this guy and I don't see how any of our guy are going to respect him, not just because of his age and inexperience but his immature mentality."

Fact is, if leaderhip and our players are your main concerns, then I suppose if Beason, one of our defensive leaders, is indeed endorsing VY, then that pretty much settles that argument, now doesn't it?

Nor could I describe you as sane for actually buying into all that hype and notoriety you wrote above as truth.

Jake Delhome btw, didn't just have "bad play". He literally broke down mentally every few games. Just like he did in that playoff game. And I would rather have a guy that breaks down off the field or because of an actual reason such as getting into a fight with a coach then one that breaks down because he throws a pick!

PS: It's not me that cares about something other than football. It's you and a few others that when it comes to VY you talk about anything other than football.

Beason wants VY because he hates losing and knows that's what is going to happen if Clausen is our QB again next year. VY has won games early in his career and I guess some players still think he's got it but I don't think he does.

God forbid Beason makes sense and cares about what YOU should care about too! WINNING!

PS: If by early you mean 2010 and 2009...then yeah Vince Young did win games in those years! And here's a tip: players follow players because they WIN. Winning is the quickest path to leadership and earning the respect of your teammates in the NFL.
