I would love to see us get an Aaron Rogers later in the draft

He was drafted what...23rd? Some knocks on him being a system QB etc. The guy sat for 3 years and look at what he has done the last 3 as a starter. I think very quickly he belongs in the Peyton manning/ Tom Brady discussion as the best QB in the NFL. I watched his PC they had on NFLN a little while ago, damn good guy all around.

Point? We don't need THE #1 pick spend on a QB to get a great one. There are some guys later on I think can be good if we give them a couple years. But if we don't trade down I think the pick is Defense hands down with this new staff.

This.

Hurney spent 8 of the last 9 drafts grabbing guys that fit specifically into Fox's scheme and were also guys that Fox wanted. Does anyone think that he is really going to do any different with Rivera?

He was picked 23rd because no team besides Green Bay needed a QB at that point. I remember because I won a bet that he would drop and be picked by Green Bay at 23.

Who's gonna play for the 3 years while he sits on the bench?
Farve.

I wonder what Rodgers' rookie year would have looked like had he been put on a crappy team with no veteran leadership, a makeshift offensive line, and Jeff Davidson calling plays for him. And forced to start.

Actually, I'm positive that several of you would have seen his potential and declared him elite. Because that's how you roll... :D

....and no running game whatsoever for at least half the season.

    • Bryce put it in a spot only his guy could get it only for David Moore to drop it. T_T Tremble and Horn both struggled yesterday and that killed me since they're two of my favourite players. Tommy knows he has to come down with this one. Folks were understandably saying that JT would've caught that had he not gotten hurt a few plays earlier. The more I look at this play, the more I think that Bryce made the right decision throwing it out the back of the endzone. He could have tried to laser it in to Thielen, but that safety is lurking awfully close inside. Insuring the field goal here after a 44sec drive to end the half was the right move.
    • Except Bryce was the main reason we were in it
    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
