American Idol

Haley's rendition is arguably on par with David Cook's "Hello"

Jacob was horrible.

James was ok.

Scotty was ok.

Both girls did well last night. Lauren, for a girl that's borderline chunky, dressed great last night. Haley acts like she's stoned at times, but man did she kill that last song.

I knew Jacob was going to go soon. After the man in the mirror comment and his arrogance week by week, it was only a matter of time.

Oh and Haley was leaps and BOUNDS ahead of the other contestants this week.

The show has obviously jumped the shark and is on its last legs. Two celebrity judges who steadfastly refuse or are directed not to criticize or say anything remotely negative do nothing but make contestants think of themselves as much better than they really are.

The talent is nowhere close to what it's been in the past, but according to Tyler and Lopez, everyone on the show should have a recording contract.

Why is Jennifer Lopez still trying to do dance music? Her movie acting is far better and tolerable than her music. She has a great body and whoever dressed her for that performance last night should be taken out and beaten with either of Jacob's limp arms.

Here are you final 3: James has the 12-year old girl vote, Scott has the redneck vote and Hailey has the male 18-24 vote. Lauren is gone next week, as impressive as she is for 15 years old. Scott will lose in the finale and Hailey and James will face off.

Hard to say who wins but Hailey could surprise given the fact James is just another Adam Lambert-type screamer who will be pretty single dimensional in the recording biz. Hailey has for more potential to do a lot of different stuff, making her a better bet for a recording company- she simply will sell more records than James.

First time I saw Aerosmith in 1975 and several times since then I've always liked their music and it's hard to watch Tyler selling himself out like a cheap, street corner trick for this crap.

If Scotty wins, I won't watch another season.

Lauren deserves to win it the most at this point, but James probably will.

Out of the final 4, Lauren will be the most successful post-Idol...

If she doesn't go fatty.

James can't handle it anymore, he's about to have a breakdown. I don't think the camera has been on him in 2 weeks without him crying.

When he broke down during rehearsal this week he was probably thinking about when he cheated on his wife.

I think Scotty has been #1 in votes all season and I don't think it's even close.

Whether Haley makes it to the top 3 depends entirely on her song choice. She has to have performances like this week for the rest of the season or she's gone. I hope she wins.

I think this is one of the best seasons talent wise, actually, so not sure what you mean there.

Scotty usually is in the top but I think last week or the week before he was in the bottom 3. He's pretty boring though, but still gets a lot of votes, we'll see.

James is good but sounded terrible last night, not sure what's up. Not sure there is really a place for him after Idol, maybe.

Haley was great, I think she could do some cool stuff post-Idol. She was on the chopping block for weeks but has been solid since.

I think Lauren will be the most successful of them though. And she's really the only one of the people left that consistently gets BETTER each week instead of plateauing. I think she would do really well in that country/pop line and would pick up a lot of young fans.

All in all, I'm kind of bored now. I have been since a couple weeks ago. I always find the early stages of the competition more exciting though.

The judges ARE boring. It's like we have 2 Paula's now with Randy. It's obvious that they are there for the money, just like Howard Stern said some months back haha. I still think someone like Gene Simmons would have been better, cause at least he'd speak his mind.

It's times like this I miss Simon, cause I'm pretty sure he'd crap on most of the performances Weds. being that late in the competition.

ya, I miss Simon too...these judges won't say poo if their mouth was full of it.

Hailey has grown alot, she spent a lot of time in the bottom three early.

Scotty has a great old country voice, but he just annoys the poo out of me with his head bobs etc.

James is great on the stage, but his voice isn't really that strong. I love his range and the fact that he's singing a ballad one week and Metallica the next. I'm sure they could do magic with him in the studio.

I'm switching to Lauren to win it all now though. Very consistent and hard to believe she's only 16. Very bright future ahead!

Lauren is so incredibly boring and unoriginal. I'd rather have any of the other 3 win over her. Her post Idol sh*t is gonna be like Miley Cyrus pop/country crap for 10 year old girls.

I hope Haley gets 2nd, even though she's my favorite by a LONG shot. American Idol winners always have to put out those cheesy songs about following your dreams and stupid stuff, so I'd rather have Haley get a contract NOT as the winner. She could put out some really sexy music.

James is the same. Could you honestly see him singing songs like that??

Scotty should win IMO. He can be extremely successful as the winner, because he'd be singing songs like that anyways at such a young age.

    • Personally, I am not sold on Bryce yet--and I do not think anyone is saying they are, but I don't think Ward is on table when we draft anyway.  Not even sure if I would rather have him than one of the later QBs.  I see a lot of potential in Allar, Nussmeire, Rourke, and even Hamilton from Ohio State--Milroe is intriguing, but I am not sure he is an NFL QB.  Ewers is that sleeper who falls and becomes a solid starter. I think that we sign a veteran who has played and we draft one of these project QBs. To your point:  With that in mind, I think you have to take QB off the table in round 1, and if Bryce can string 4-5 games like KC together, we still need to draft a QB in round three or so---I really think Rourke is a great fit for this offense--he is accurate and gets the ball out quickly---he impressed me vs OSU.   Reason?  I think we may have a tough decision to make about Bryce in 2 years--will he be worth $60m?  That decision is a lot easier if you have been grooming a backup for 2 years who can play. In round 1: I am hoping for PSU's edge Abdul Carter In round 2:  I would like to see us grab a DT who can rush the passer.  Walter Nolen of Ole Miss is versatile and a bit raw. I think he could be an excellent complement to Brown. In round 3:  I would love ILB Danny Stutsman from Oklahoma.  He is a beast. With 11 picks, I would package our 4th rounders to move up into the third round and take a QB.  At the moment, I think Rourke is trending upward and he has the skills Canales seems to want in a QB.  Quick processor, quick release. I would use the fifth rounders on OL.  I know that I left out WR--however, we are getting Thielen back, XL will be improved, Coker will be improved, and Moore has been surprisingly good.  Sanders (TE) has been more than expected in the passing game.  I think we need D more than WR, and maybe we can get a veteran WR to sign or find a hidden gem late.
    • Wouldn't be surprised if he starts a couple Jets games this year with the way the Rodgers thing is going. Giants fans are pissed they didn't keep him lol. He might actually have a little bit of a market.
    • I think we look at both.  I wouldn't mind resigning Dalton for a deal.  He would know the offense and there is no pressure to see what we have in him. Then I wouldn't mind finding a low round rookie with potential.
