Because while there are those that can smoke it every once in a while and be fine and keep control, I've lost 2 of my closer friends to it because they threw their lives away and became pot heads. This then led to serious and more heavy drugs. They're no longer a part of my life anymore because of it. So this is how I know that weed is dumb, along with any other mind impairing substance.

Sorry to hear about your friends, but like they said earlier in this thread, weed itself did not solely cause your friends to spin out of control. its not a gateway drug, it just happens to be the most readily available drug earlier on.

Thanks. Well whether it's termed a 'gateway drug' or not, is debatable. My point is that this was the start of the end for these two guys, and is my experience that leads me to base my opinion of weed, and the other things I saw these two abuse and become victim to. To each his own, I'm just saying I have my judgement of it because I've seen the permanent damages of what I deem the spark that turned two guys lives in 180 degrees.

Not saying that's not 100% true, but Happy asked how would I know, in reference to my weed is dumb statement. I told him why I feel that way, knowing that it does in fact affect people differently, but that seeing it be the start of their demise as the reason I proscribe it.

again, sorry about ur friends. saw the same poo happen to alot of my friends in college but the initial drug was alcohol and now they have gone in a huge downward coke spiral. Personally, thats my reason for not doing coke.

so, whether you want to hold a grudge or not, I don't hold alcohol responsible for solely fuging them into the position they are in now. That was done by their choices and their weak inability to say no and stop when necessary.

Understood. Likewise about your friends. So you don't do coke because you saw what it did to your friends, just happens to be the way I see weed. I really just don't like the idea of any impairing substance, just because I see it as pointless. To each his own though, people are going to do what they want to do, regardless of how I feel about it. Just thought I'd put my $.02 in.

I think weed can definitely be a gateway drug especially at a young age.

Otherwise its pretty harmless.
