You just have some feeling of false entitlement to human life, like it's any more valuable than any other life on this planet. Maybe it's because you walk upright or can drive a car, I'm not really sure. In almost any facet of life outside of technology, dogs are better creatures than humans.

Maybe you've never owned a dog with some real personality (probably a purse dog) but if you ever do own a real dog, I think you'll see things different.

You have to look at how they were raised. I've been terrified of dogs my whole life for this same reason but now I have two rescues. I've never met an inherently mean puppy. I have met inherently mean children.

You put a dog and a child in the same circumstances (roof over their head, food on their plate, and show them love) and the dog comes out looking better 100 out of 100 times. Sure there is the example where the kid is appreciative and well mannered. But there are just as many examples where the kid turns into a POS and abuses the love his parents give him for his or her personal gain.

You can try and make pets "part of the family" all you want, but they are still wild animals in certain circumstances.

So humans are far past needing shelter, food, and love so those things don't matter anymore and they SHOULD be taken for granted?

I just find it funny that people think we are so important when in the grand scheme of things we are nothing, we will never be anything, we never were anything but we are so superior to other creatures on this planet.

I'm saying right now, my dog's life, both of them, are more valuable than any strangers life to me. I know with 100% certainty my dog will do nothing to negatively affect this planet or any other creatures life, I can't say the same for the human.

I don't own a dog. I haven't in over 15 years or so. I don't feel the need to be dominant over another living creature, and force it to be my obedient servant and give me loyalty.

...and if we weren't important on a grand scale of things, then why do we basically sit atop the food chain with our technology, and have the sole ability to destroy the entire planet, and everything on it...

The only thing bigger than us is the rest of the universe and the various objects in it that have the shared ability to destroy all life on the planet... Even that hasn't happened in the history of our planet... but we as humans could do it...
