Matt Moore: I would love to stay in Carolina

tbh, most people who support Clausen actually want a veteran brought in to compete with him. If he wins the job, so be it.

There are absolutely no situations where I want to go into next season with him having got the starting job with NO competition though.

But most will point to his lack of NFL experience and say that he still has potential but the same can be said of Moore. The difference is Moore has actually shown that potential against starting NFL D's. If your willing to give Clausen a shot you should be willing to do the same for Moore. This is assuming he realizes his worth and doesn't demand a ridiculous contract.

I don't agree with the following argument, but this is how it goes:

Moore had a number of years in the system, showed he could win games that didn't mean much. When it came to games that meant something he blew them. That means Moore can't possibly be a franchise quarterback because he throws interceptions when the pressure is on his shoulders or whatever. Clausen is an unknown, because he was a rookie in a bad system with x y z etc etc. Also, Clausen is under contract, so he's coming back, like it or not. Moore is not under contract. Finally, an observer article said Moore isn't coming back but that could just be speculation out of them, because no source was given and Moore seems optimistic himself.

Also, on a more legitimate reason why Moore might not make it back here, he is coming off an injury. How thoroughly and how quickly he recovers could play a big role in if he makes the team.

Again, I personally think he has a good shot of being back, especially if we don't draft a QB (if we do, it becomes a lot tighter but he still may come to camp to try to beat out whatever vet they bring in).

Yeap and most of the arguments pro-clausen are "He was put in a bad situation" "There was no Oline or running game to speak of" and of course the "He played with 2 rookie WR's and didn't have Smith every game". That last makes me chuckle considering he barely even targeted Smith even when he was in the game. He tended to look more to the checkdowns or Gettis/Laffell.

All in all they both were trying to play with next to no consistency on this O. Our oline looked like swiss cheese most of early season and our running game was non-existent.

Personally I would sign him back on the cheap just because of what he has shown in years past (09 the guy looked straight up unstoppable at times). I know that was 2 years ago but it shows he has the talent to start in this league. But so were clear here I also think we should bring in vet maybe 2 and let them all compete in TC. By no means do I think he is a definite starting QB just stating that he does have the potential.

Clausen sucked but he was a rookie but he still really sucked.

Moore sucked and was the more exp. player.

The off. system and the lame duck coach was a bad situation for both.

Simple and plain Clausen has a contract Matt doesn't.

We are already stuck paying Clausen so we hope he gets better.

We don't have 2 pay Matt 2 suck again.

But since people want 2 bring him 2 camp. Why not bring Hunter as well and have a BAD Qb reunion.:nopity::nopity:

Moore started the season with two bad games and was benched. Saying he sucks based on TWO GAMES is just as stupid as calling Clausen a bust based on his rookie season. Two games isn't enough to determine a QB sucks. His injury, the fact that he doesn't have a contract, those are reasons he shouldn't be on the team. Saying he sucks based on two games won't be the reason he doesn't get a contract.

I said he sucked (meaning at this time or recent times) I didn't say he sucks (meaning all the time). He played in 4 games this year sucked in 3 almost sucked away the San fran game. Got Knock out of 2 games. So again he sucked this year. Is that clear??

"We don't have 2 pay Matt 2 suck again"

This means you are convinced he will suck next season which would mean in your opinion he sucks. At least that is my basic understanding of English, I could be wrong but pretty sure that says he sucks. Against San Fran he was 28 of 41 308 yards, 7.5 yard avg., 2 TD 1 INT, rating of 96.4. Seriously, he "almost sucked" away that game? You are ignoring the facts if you honestly believe that.

The dumb int too the DT that ran it in for a TD. That put San Fran back in a game they were getting crushed in.

you have a strange definition of crushed and seem to forget the 2 touchdowns and 308 yards he threw for. he WAS our offense.

if he hadn't made the plays he made, we would have lost. our running game had an amazing 34 carries for 76 yards.

No that was saying their is a chance he sucks again. So why would a team resign him if their is a chance he could suck again? This is not jake delhome he hasn't built that kind of credit with this FO where they would look past this season transgression. He got a one year deal not a 2 year not a 3 year. Meaning he had 1 shot 2 prove himself and earn a bigger contract this year. What did he prove too get another deal?

There is a change any player will suck. Why should we sign any of them if that is your argument?
