A Head Coach who got rejected 9 years in a row

A Defensive Coordinator who just got poo canned

A Special teams coach who has no redeeming qualities

An OC who seems to be following Jeff Davidson around

I'm hopeful and as always will be cheering louder than any of you if we win.

But I would like you to consider for a moment that we are scraping the bottom of the barrel in the NFL. Just consider it.

good day

who else was available that is so much better?

Cowher wasn't going to coach even if offered a contract, and Harbaugh wasn't leaving California. Those are the only guys I would have liked over Rivera for head coach.

We did good given who was available.

I get it. You're trying to paint the worst picture scenario you can, so the opposite will happen. Very very clever, Happy ;)

You didn't swallow the pill yet? I'm slightly excited, but I don't think it is an all star coaching staff that the huddle masses think it is. Meeks as a secondary coach is great. Everything else should be taken with a wait and see approach.

The funniest quote I've seen is when someone said the Eagles were dumb for firing McDermont? He made them average, it is time to move on.

Rivera's interviews came over a span of 4 seasons, not 9. (Also, Rex Ryan was passed over a few times before being hired as well)

McDermott's defense was 12th in yards, while having his depth chart being turned completely upside down due to injuries.

Murphy lead the Vikings to the 9th ranked special teams unit in 2009, according to the Dallas Morning Star

Chudzinski lead the Browns to the 8th best scoring offense in 2007. He also made Derek Anderson a Pro Bowl quarterback (yeah, let that sink in a little bit)

    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
    • Well, we got our answer on Army today.
    • Not a chance the SEC could compete with the NFL.  In the large cities that are not in the Southeast, (LA, NYC, Chicago, SF) College football is an afterthought.
