Skipper not a lock for Broncos

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

look at foxy trying to get the ol' gang back together........what the hell is dan henning doing these days?

Nothing. The Dolphins let him go.

You know, the Broncos haven't hired a quarterback coach yet :sosp:

I'd actually like to keep Skipper and Magazu, maybe Tolbert.

Magazu and Tolbert are already confirmed to Denver. Richard Smith too.

Wouldn't surprise me.

For the record, Skipper has also coached defensive backs, but that was at the college level and nearly thirty years ago (coached DBs between 1974 and 1979).

Fox could give him that job, but it's a reach. And if he did that, then what does he do with another "old friend" in the coaching ranks, Mike Gillhammer?

skipper is the only one that probably should be retained and mainly because of the relationship he has with the RBs, but i still don't have a problem with him leaving. i want rivera to have who he wants in here, not a coach that was forced on him.

If it's almost like if Skipper is definitely gone, we ought to consider trading Williams because he's made it known how much he wants Skipper back and how awkward it's going to be during camp, if he isn't.

Plus, we have no idea what sort of offense Rivera wants to run. Williams and Stewart may be less of a focus then they were with Fox.

I was talking about this to someone yesterday...I love D-Will, but if they would give us their second this year, I would be happy.

If Skipper goes to Denver, trading Williams for the #35 pick would be win win. Williams

wants Skipper for a coach and Denver could use Williams as their RB. We have several at RB who can do the job and Williams gets dinged up every year. We could really use that 2nd round pick.
