My 1 round mock draft

Yea, the Broncos need D-line but I don't see a 3-4 team taking a D-lineman at #2...unless they're the Chiefs and the Tyson Jackson pick was widely ridiculed. I agree these QBs don't deserve to be taken this high, but I still think they will be, and I addressed the Gabbert hypetrain. I think when it comes down to it, people will go with Mallett over Gabbert. Don't worry about hurting my feelings, I have thick skin :) I was trying not to just regurgitate Kiper, Mayock, etc mocks and tried to think outside the box, looking at things from different angles. The Newton pick I thought was a little outta left field, but I stand by the reasoning. Vick ain't gonna last in Philly forever.

Yea, I agree the QBs are a bit excessive, but it seems to me that more teams really need a QB this year than any year in recent history. I mean, there are a few teams pretty desperate for a QB and very little in FA. I think the Panthers, Cardinals, Vikings, 49ers, Titans and to a lesser extent Redskins and Dolphins REALLY need new QBs and there's really not much available in FA. I really hope the Panthers address the need via FA but the others are far enough down to potentially trade down or take a QB with it being less of a reach than it would be at #1. But I'll look over it some more. I still disagree that Mallett will drop further down than Gabbert. If anyone jumps Mallett it will be Locker (or possibly Newton, if a team without an immediate need at QB jumps on him). I don't think his "character concerns" will change the fact that he has the best combination of physical tools, polish and talent of all the QBs. I'll go back and rethink some QB spots though.

I think Mallett is universally seen as the 4th best prospect in the QB class. He has questions over his character off the field, work rate and film dedication and is essentially a statue in the pocket. He has also rubbed people up the wrong way and was NEVER voted team captain, which is pretty damn rare for a QB. Not to mention an awkward wind up on his throws.

He essentially has a big arm and decent accuract and ability to read defences.

panthers are not going to pick a new QB. They will pick NICK FAIRELY with the overall nuber one pick if it ain't fairely then it will be bowers the offense has the talent to be good just need some good coaching and teaching so I don't see PANTHERS picking any offense in the first round even tho we need help there I say pick ur offense in the later rounds

I hope in the later rounds the Panthers grab ECU WR/KR Dwayne Harris. He was the C-USA MVP this season, in a league known for its offense. He has been compared to Josh Cribbs in his size... he is a TREMENDOUS blocker and coaches say he plays WR like a running back. Every time he touches the ball, you hold your breath because it's showtime!

    • For the silly people that worship her it will be that.  The Coleman 'legend' thing, they did that with another fairly average player that was here and I sort of mocked or questioned the 'legend' status. Instantly caught crap for insulting someone's favorite Panther. So okay, Kurt Coleman is a Legend.
    • You allow him to compete--you all are talking as if I am proposing making him the starter. Give him a new coach, new weapons, good OL, etc. and see what happens. You are saying, "Well Damn.  It did not work for 3 guys..."  Right now, our C is injured, we lost our top 2 WRs.  Better question:  If you need a QB, Why would you not take a chance on bringing in a QB who was a former first rounder, a good arm, intelligence, mobility, youth, etc.  and see how he does out of NY--with a better OL, better running game, better receivers.  I am not saying give him a 10-year contract, I am saying give him a chance. You act like there is no improvement on offense here--it was a 2 year process, and next year is year 2.  To me, how can you sit there with Bryce and an opportunity to sign a veteran QB on the cheap comes available and you say--"Not us. We're good.  We are waiting for Patrick Mahommes."  Jone's problem is obviously mental--and he has little support.  Why is this so frigging hard to comprehend.  It is called "bottom fishing" and it is better than sitting in the boat.
    • I think we're going to fall from behind quite early and be forced to abandon the run game.  3 rushes -2 yards 1 catch -10 yards
