lol

I take it you don't go to BOA stadium all that much.

Were you there at the AZ game? It was pretty much like you just described this game.

Thank God someone cleared that poo up. Reps.

Bank of America Stadium is like a home stadium for almost every opposing team.

I'm really surprised by the dominance GB showed against the Falcons. I really thought they were a better team. But hey, I'm not upset at the result. lol@Atlanta

I think their upset trumps ours. Just because they aren't really that young of a team (Ryan's at 3 years now? Turner has been around awhile). Our age was starting to show in '08.

This was an embarrassment for the Falcons tonight, that's for sure. They beat Green Bay in the Dome already this year and were well rested coming in. The Packers, however, were some people's (or at least my) preseason NFC Champion. I had GB going to the Super Bowl until injuries piled up. They still made the playoffs and are marching forward with what they have. Very impressive. This was a tough loss for a relatively new HC and young QB where they laid an egg.

The 08 Panther loss exposed and crippled Delhomme, tanking the 09 season and resulting in an 8-8 season that lost Fox his job. The result: a lame duck coaching staff forced to play youngster without veterans to fall back on.

We won't know of any lasting effects from this loss until next season. I don't expect much.

Falcons game, how is this even a question?

the truth is they both probably hurt equally to the fanbases, but the falcons were widely expected to represent the NFC in the superbowl... instead the Pack comes in and lays 48 points on a "vaunted" defense and "matty ice" melts all over the field into a sloppy puddle of pick six and sacks

falcons loss was WAY worse.

Falcons was worse.

I think the '08 Postseason Cardinals would have beat the hell out of the '10 Packers. Both teams were pretty much the exact same when they met last year in the playoffs, when the Cardinals won.

Falcons had the top 5 scoring offense/defense. Had the legendary Matty Ice....

In '08...... It wasn't so much analysts were hyping us up as much as it was them just writing off the Cardinals. Most of us saw the huge gaping flaws in our team before that game. Delhomme showed signs of a meltdown in the making against the Raiders and another team (Can't think of which team at the moment).

Our loss was worse.

Yeah the Falcs got hammered, but it was Green Bay. They have the history behind them. If you think that means nothing, I doubt you've been to Lambeau, but if you want, dismiss that, they have been a dangerous team since Farve stepped on the tundra.

The Cards had an air of destiny about them but they're still the cards. From St. Louis to AZ they've rarely been jackshit.

Having said that, the Saints have the worst of all time because... Damn... Yes we lost to the Seahawks in the NFCC, but that year they were on fire. This year they sucked. I'm staying in central California & I have to go to Washington every two weeks. All the way up to that game, every sports talk show outside of Seattle was insisting that the Seahawks should give up their spot to "a team that deserves it".

Us and the Falcons will be mentioned in history, but the Saints made history.

The Arizona loss completely upended this entire franchise and we're still recovering from it. It was the end of an era when Jake threw those 5 picks and the game where Jerry decided not to keep Fox as HC.

Atlanta will at least bring back the same team with all that young talent next year.

The only reason Arizona fans didn't "take over" the stadium that night is because Arizona has very few fans, let alone fans who travel across the country to see a game. Had we been playing Green Bay, Dallas, or some other team with a national fan base it would have turned into a home game for the visiting team.
