There is way too much talk of FA signings and trades on the Huddle

Really? De taken care of through the draft. Guard? We did sign through Fa but also through the draft. Tight end? really? K/PR tried to fix through draft.

Most of those you fix through the draft. Oline was great until this season. Safety wasnt that bad.

It was Riveria that said he wanted to upgrade the TE position. He may mean how we use the TE but it was clear that he saw that as a weakness.

I can't tell if it's wishful thinking or people just being confused about things, but Jerry Richardson has flat-out said that he's not signing any free agents or resigning anyone until after the CBA situation is resolved. That's likely to be over 6 months from now. And you can't trade for anyone either until that time.

So why do people keep talking about Vince Young/Donovan McNabb/Asomugha/Orton? 2011 is almost certainly going to be yet another season where we lose more players through free agency than gain because the opportunity to acquire new players is going to be extremely, extremely limited.

Believe me, I hate to say this, but the 2011 Carolina Panthers are likely to be very similar to the 2010 Carolina Panthers. Only real differences will be a new head coach and a #1 draft pick and the probable loss of some core free agents. If you're looking for big free agent signings, you still have another full calendar year to go and then some.

what else are we supposed to talk about!?!

JR is not getting any younger and with his health issues he knows to even sniff at being a contender he has to open his wallet for some key free agents.

Everyone knows how we played at QB and the jury is still out on Pickles. Missing out on Luck it will take a few years to develop a young QB. The big question is how to get a quality vet QB with a few good years left. Do we make a trade or get the leftovers ?

Great point,I think he's willing to spend money as long as he feels it would produce desired results. I've got think he wants to win more than us fans do

Sometimes throwing money at a name doesn't change anything.(Keyshauwn)

He wants an attacking defense and an aggressive minded OC ,he will have to be an aggessive owner if he wants to be back in the playoffs soon.I just have

to think as a former player and now owner that he still loves to win and that

this is more than just a business to him.I think most Panther fans respected

JR until last year and most of us agreed that players like Peppers didn't earn

on the field what was required to keep them .How many fans were devastated

about losing Delholmn. No doubt we took GIANT STEP BACKWARDS LAST YEAR

but I'm not ready to give up on our owner quite yet,I know when I screw up

it really pisses me off and I'm much more determined to kick ass the next day

We have no control over it anyway might as well have HOPE!!

Those people are setting expectations way too high then. They're going to get fixated on these big name free agents and are going to be disappointed with the Panthers yet again when they don't even pick up the phone to even try and sign these guys. But I guess when you have such a beaten-down fan base, dreaming of being fans of a good team again can't hurt.

So the same guy who wanted us to lose games to get Luck months before he declared is telling people not to get their expectations up for free agents months before we could get them? A bit hypocritical don't ya think?

no team will be spending on free agents until the CBA is signed. they can't. panthers aren't the lone team who will be sitting around doing nothing.

once the CBA is signed, there will be a FA signing frenzy that will be fast and furious and the panthers will be right there in the middle of it. for once they have the cap space to do it and a FO that is motivated to put the best group of players possible on the field to make up for last years fail.
