How likely is Kyle Orton to become a Panther?

Knowing Rivera, he's gonna wait it out (2012, deep QB pool) and let Clausen have another shot at it through 2011.

Like I said, Arizona or Minnesota for a 2012 3rd round pick (asking for a 2nd). Book it.

I think McNabb will end up in Minnesota, and Arizona might take a QB with their first pick. Plus Carolina's 3rd rounder is more valuable.

McNabb in Minnesota is definitely a possibility, but I just don't see us making a deal with the Panthers. It's not that we wouldn't be interested, we certainly would (as long as we're not swapping picks) as we're looking to get rid of Orton, Rivera / Panthers' FO wouldn't though.

Aside from Arizona and Minnesota, San Francisco is another place where Orton may draw interest.

I don't see it either. I mean, why trade up when Bowers, Dareus, Quinn, Peterson, etc. would all help you? Why give up a second (trade value) to do that?

The Golden Calf of Bristol is not ready yet--may never be. Why trade Orton?

I don't understand why the Broncos would get rid of Orton this year unless it's for a sweet deal, and I just don't see the Panthers making that deal. We'd have to try to get him with a 3rd, which would obviously be worth it for us but it sure as hell wouldn't for them I don't think.

Fox would want to keep the veteran. The Golden Calf of Bristol might be on the block.

The Golden Calf of Bristol not going anywhere from all I've read ,but I do think that The Golden Calf of Bristol

will at some point be a force in the NFL .He does have ability and appears to have twice the determination as most. If he gets the right coaching and is brought along at the right speed ,he will be a franchise qb

Peterson, Bowers or Fairley. Neither are worth a 1st overall. We will not be trading up with you guys and you'll have a hard time finding anyone who will, just saying.

Broncos will try and trade down but we may not be able to.

As for The Golden Calf of Bristol, he is far better than Orton, no comparison whatsoever. Anyone who think Orton is the future in Denver are kidding themselves and obviously blindsided by Ortons amazing garbage time 2011 stats.

Truth be told, Orton is good if you're in need of a stopgap, a journeyman. He is without question the best backup out there, I'll give him that.

As a starter? Not so much. Better make sure to build an early lead because this guy is never gonna win you any games otherwise. He is absolutely terrible in clutch situations.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about.

It is a fact already, per Elway's twitter. The Golden Calf of Bristol is staying in Denver, good thing too because he's gonna be spectacular.

Orton wants to be the starter in 2011 or he wants out (quote per January 2011). He has been put on the trade block, we're asking for a 2nd round pick, but he will be traded for a 3rd rounder. Fact.

He will not be traded to Panthers. Fact.

Talk to you in April.

Rivera will be given more than one season to prove himself. Knowing this, he will look to improve elsewhere and draft your franchise QB in 2012 should Clausen not work out - which he wont.

I agree on that.

And while I don't agree that he could trade The Golden Calf of Bristol, just be warned that Fox heavily favors veterans over young players, especially at QB.

Part of the reason Jerry Richardson gutted the roster of vets this season was because Fox refused to play younger players, so Richardson gave him no choice.

If The Golden Calf of Bristol is the anointed starter, that decision may have to come from higher up than Fox.

You're absolutely right on that one and it's just that.

Normally, we would let the HC run the entire show but now, after announcing our new FO philosophy if you will, Elway (as VP) will be overseeing GM Xanders and HC Fox. As Elway put it, if the three cannot reach an agreement on a particular idea, that idea may not be the right one. Furthermore and I'm quoting; "HC would have to be one who sees The Golden Calf of Bristol as the future of our franchise" or he wouldn't be the right one for the job.

Orton has personally said he wants to be the starter in 2011 and even before that, he was put on the trade block so he's definitely out, leaving us with The Golden Calf of Bristol and Quinn.

The Golden Calf of Bristol will start in Denver. Good thing too.

I love what I've seen from him thus far, the flashes, how he performed in clutch etc... amazing for a rookie who everyone were laughing at.

I dont get the love for Orton, he isnt a franchise QB so why go that route.

Give Jimmy Clausen another season

If we horrible again, we will have a shot at Andrew Luck or Matt Barkley (possibly Landry Jones could be a franchise QB type).

Even if were mediocre, id still trade our whole draft next year to move up and get Luck or Barkley, kinda like the Jets did with Sanchez, they moved up like 12 spots.

Orton is not he answer, so why waste a draft pick on him.

Exactly. Every Panther fan should pay attention to this guy. He speaks the truth.

Trust me, you'll want to stay away from Orton. It may seem tempting now, but it'll be a mistake on your part and a wasted pick nonetheless.
