How likely is Kyle Orton to become a Panther?

Given Ron Rivera was with the Bears when Kyle Orton was there, and former Panther head coach John Fox is now the head coach of Orton's current team, how likely is it he becomes a Panther next season?

Will Fox want to retain Orton? Does Rivera's inside knowledge of the player help or hurt his chances? I think the Broncos will keep Orton and The Golden Calf of Bristol, and cut Brady Quinn. Since being coached under McDaniels, Orton grew into more than just a game manager. His gaudy stats didn't equal as many wins as you'd hope, but with a John Fox defense he might have a little more help. It all depends on how enamored the Broncos are with The Golden Calf of Bristol...I just think Fox being there now makes it a little more interesting. Thoughts?

Don't see orton leaving denver. But if the same OC that was with the bears when orton was there then I say why not. But it also has to do if the panthers bring back moore or not if they don't then I say try and get somthing done this offseason and bring in orton he can only help us after this yr season. and that would give our rookie Qb time to develop and mature

Well this I do know.....Denver invested a 1st rd pick into The Golden Calf of Bristol so they will give him every opportunity to be their number 1.Orton does not want to be a backup.

Other than that I would think that Denver would want to retain Orton if they can afford to but think Orton based on his performance last year could be a starter in the NFL and wants that opportunity.

The Panthers could sure use him.

We'd have to give up a pick we need for him, but after seeing what he did with no name WRs this season, I'm all for it.

People are quick to point out that he played well "due to the system in Denver", just as they point out that's why Brady is so good (lol). What you have to remember is that we'll have a brand new system in place here and it can be designed around the QB. We all need to stop thinking anything related to how the Panthers were run in the past. It's going to be brand spanking new.

Orton (13 games) - 3, 653 yds, 20 TDs, 9 INTs, Rating 87.5

Brandon Lloyd - 1,448 yds 11 TDs

Jabar Gaffney - 875 yds 2 TDs

Eddie Royal - 627 yds 3 TDs

I think he could get the ball to LaFell, Gettis, and Smitty...don't you?

why go after Orton when we can easily get quinn? then we could have 2 over rated losers from the same lame ass school that were both proclaimed "best nfl ready qb in the draft" aka the biggest crock of poo i've ever heard. Everybody is just trying to get their 2 cents in hoping that if for some reason quinn or clausen did good they could say they were the first to say that and then all the crap about trying to liken then to Joe Montana and so on.....

Clausen for life!!!!

Is it likely for Orton + #2 overall pick coming here for #1 overall and a player?

EDIT: Never mind. None of this will happen because of the lockout.

Even without the lockout, I'd need more than just Orton to trade down.

Orton and their second rounder to move down one spot? That you might talk me into.
